DESIGN FOR A CLASP MEMBER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,539, dated October 25, 1898.
Application filed September 29, 1898. Serial No. 692,235. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, NEWTON CRANE, of Newton in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for a Clasp Member, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a member of a pair of fastening devices or clasps-such, for instance, as those employed on arctics or overshoes; and it consists in the novel features of shape and configuration hereinafter fully described and claimed and illustrated upon the accompanying drawings.
Of the drawings, Figure 1 represents in plan view a member of the clasp or fastenerwhich embodies my design. Fig. 2 represents a longitudinal section through the same on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1.
The article of manufacture embodying my design is shown as a plate having a flat portion a and a curved portion a. The flat portion of the plate has a straight end wall and the curved sides a 0?, said portion of the plate being considerably wider than the portion a. There is formed in the relatively wide flat portion a an elongated slot having straight sides a and curved ends a. The curved portion a of the member has straight parallel edges a and the curved end a, and it is provided with a series of tongues a", bent at an inclination thereto, each tongue being curved, as at a.
I claim The design for a fastener or clasp member, substantially as shown and described.
