To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FREDERICK W. HILL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Boston, in the county of Suffolk and State of 5 Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Furniture-Supports; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying 1o drawings, forming a part thereof.
The design relates to furniture-s11pports of the kind composed of two members, an upper and a lower one, the former usually termed the furniture-shank and the latter I5 termed the base portion.
Figure 1 is a front elevation of the furniture-support, showing my design and showing the two above-mentioned parts as assembled; and Fig. 2 is an edge View of the same.
The leading feature of the design of the upper member A consists in two parallel bars A A, between which is an open elongated space A", as shown in Fig. 1. At the top of the parallel bars A A are arms a a, extend- 25 ing outward from the uppcrends of said bars.
From the outer ends of the arms a a spring ribs a" a, made continuous in their lower ends with the bars A A. A A are approximately triangular openings bounded by the parts A, a, and a", as shown in Fig. 1.
The leading feature of the design for the lower member B consists in two parallel bars B 13', between which is an open elongated space E", as shown. The lower ends of the parallel bars B B are made continuous with an inverted or curved arch Z). (Shown in the drawings.) Continuous with the lower ends of the parallel bars 13 B are outwardlyflaring curved side extensions B B as shown in Fig. 1.
What I claim is The design for furnitlire-supports herein shown and described.
