SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,802, dated July 21, 1896.
Application filed Ootoher 28, 1895. Serial No. 567,201. Term of patent '7 years.

Be it known that 1, JOHN C. HOWE, of Syraeuse, in the county of Onondaga, in the State of New York, have invented a new and useful Design for Forks for Bicycles and other Velocipedes, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, showing a part thereof.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a front or back elevation of a fork for bicycles and other velocipedes, showing my design; and Fig. 2, a side elevation of the same.
The leading features of my design consist in straight and curvilinear transverse bars disposed one above the other, substantially straight side bars depending from the extremities of the transverse bars,and a straight intermediate bar rising from the central portions of said transverse bars.
A B are respectively the straight and centrally-arched transverse bars, O C the side bars, and D the intermediate bar. The transverse bars have flat upper and lower surfaces and are arranged one above the other, presenting the edge, front, and rear to the eye.
The side bars are substantially straight, with the general contour of a flattened ovoid, and depend from the extremities of the transverse bars. The intermediate bar rises from the central portions of the transverse bars, uniting at its lower end with the center of the arched transverse bar, and is circular in contour.
