DESIGN FOR A FURNACE-GRATE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,458, dated July 2, 1895.
Application filed February 21, 1895. Serial No. 539,286. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, WALTER S. STEVENSON, a citizen of the United States, residing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented a certain Design fora Furnace-Grate, of which Ithe following is a specification.
My design for a stove-grate is fully shown in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a plan view of the grate. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the same, and Fig. 8 is a transverse section of one of the bars.
The design comprises two segregable featuresnamely, the frame and the bars.
The frame comprises the front web a, the intermediate transverse web I), and the back web d, these three webs being connected by side webs, which as to their front portions f are straight and at right angles to the front web, and as to their rear portions f are inwardly curved and less in width than the front portionsf, and have near the back web d a sharp inward offset f the back web dbeing much narrower than the front web a of the frame.
Each of the bars t'of the grate is of polygonal cross-sectional form and has at short intervals throughout its length groups of projecting ribs or fingers 1'', each group comprising three equidistant fingers, as shown in Fig. 3, and around each of these fingers extends a groove 1?.
I claim- 1. The design for a stove grate, substantially as described and shown.
2. In a design for a stove grate, the design for the frame, substantially as described and shown.
3. In a design for a stove grate, the design for the bar, substantially as described and shown.
