SYLVANUS D. LOCKE, OF HOOSICK FALLS, NEW YORK, ASSIGNOR TO THE LOCKE STEEL BELT COMPANY, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A CHAIN-LINK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,363, dated March 21, 1899.
Application filed February 20, 1899- Serial Ho- 706,268- Tsrm of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known'that l, SYLVANUS D. LOCKE, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Hoosick Falls, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Chain- Link, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
The leading features of my design consist in a chain-link having a general rectangular shape and having the end bar at one end of the link formed of portions of unequal lengl h curved over toward each other from the inner edge of thebar, one of said curved portions having a length approximately equal to the extreme width of the link and the other having a length approximately equal to the wid th between the side bars, the opposite end bar of the link being also formed of two curved portions, each having a length approximately equal to the distance between the two side bars and curved over toward each other.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 represents a plan view of a link, and Fig. 2 represents an edge view of the same.
A A represent the side bars of the link, B B represent the curved portions of unequal lengths at one end bar of the link, and b b represent the curved portions of equal length at the opposite end bar of the link.
What I claim is-- The design for a chain-link substantially as herein shown and described.
