DESIGN FOR A CORNER-IRON FOR TRUNKS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design N 0. 24,215, dated April 16, 1895.
Application filed March 9,1895. Serial No. 541,199. Term of patent 7 years.
To (LIZ whom it may concern;
lie it known that I, JEROME M. SUHWERIN, of Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented a certain new and useful Design for Trunk Corner-Irons; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use it, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, which form part of this specification.
My invention relates to designs for trunk corner irons, illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of my invention taken from the outside. Fig. 2 is a perspective View taken from the inside.
The trimming here shown is for the corner of a trunk and being in design a right angle in cross section, the lower leafA of which, has an angular opening 13, and at each side of this angular opening the external configura tion is formed by upwardly extending flanges C which are rounded away at their inner ends to meet the edges of the said leaf A.
The upper leaf or arm D of the trimming is provided with an external central bulge or configuration II which is tapered upward as shown, the lower edge of the bulge extending slightly below the lower edge of the inner end of the said flanges of the lower leaf.
