DESIGN FOR A TOE-CLIP FOR BICYCLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,138, dated March 19, 1895.
Application filed December 24, 1894. Serial No. 582,882- Tem of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that we, WILLIAM H. DAWSON and JAMES E. DAWSON, citizens of the United States, residing at Pawtucket, in the county of Providence and State of Rhode Island, have invented and produced a new and original Design foraToe-Clip for Bicycles; and we do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying sheet of drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 represents a side elevation of the clip showing the general contour in that direction. Fig. 2- is a front view of the clip showing the diamond shaped opening in the front end. Fig. 3- is a top view of the clip showing part of the opening on the curved front end.
The form, starting from the upper end of a short vertical portion S, a straight base portion extends toward the front where it turns up in a semicircular form to the upper part which runs back nearly parallel to the base with a slight curve downward and a more decided curve upward as it approaches the end. In the front view it is divided by an opening having the diverging and converging lines which laterally form the sides thereof and constitute the diamond shaped opening.
We claim The design for a toe clip for bicycles, substantially as described.
