SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,236, dated February 21, 1893.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, WILLIAM C. WINFTELD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Warren, in the county of Trumbull and State of Ohio, have invented and prod need a new and original Design for Ears to Secure Bails on Cans and the Like, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming 'a. part 10 thereof.

A represents the surface of the substantially semi-spherical center portion of my new design in ears for the bails of cans, pails and other vessels. The said surfaeeA is convex, as shown, and the base about said portion A has a flat surface 13. In the center-of the semi-spherical portion of the said eztr is u hole a, and beneath said hole is adepression, groove or channel b, terminating above in said hole a and feathering or running out on the surface A, substantially as shown.
