Description

F. G. SCHNEIDER 6: W. G. L. ZIEHN.
BAR FIXTURE.
LIOATION FILED OUT. 28, 1908.
Patented Nov. 30, 1909.
' UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FREDRICK G. SCHNEIDER AND WILLIAM C. L. ZIEHN, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS; SAID ZIEHN ASSIGNOR TO SAID SCHNEIDER.
BAR-FIXTURE.
To all whom it may concern:
Be itknown that we, FnEDRIoK G. SCHNEI- mm and WILLIAM G. L. ZIEI-IN, both citizens of the United States, and both residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bar-Fixtures, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates more particularly to bar fixtures used in connection with saloons and soda fountains, and has for one of its objects to cast or make the same in sections; which are constructed in such manner as to enable the various sections to be readily locked together.
Another object is to construct the apparatus so that it will be absolutely sanitary, the same having a smooth enameled finish.
The invention consists in the features of construction and combination of parts hereinafter described and claimed.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a side elevation of this improved bar fixture; Fig. 2 a transverse section taken on line 22 of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 a longitudinal section taken on line 8-3 of Fig. 1; Fig. 4 a detail of one of the section ends; and Fig. 5 a transverse section taken on line 5-5 of Fig. 1, looking in the direction of the arrow.
This bar fixture has preferably a bottle cooling tank or receptacle 6, and a rinsing tank 7, each integrally cast and having rounded corners for preventing sediment or impurities from lodging therein. Both of these tanks or receptacles have lugs 8 cast in suitable proximity to the upper end walls, for permitting the same to be locked together by bolts 9, or otherwise, when the sections have been properly joined together.
It is obvious that various styles of joints may be used in connection With this bar fixture, but actual use and experience have shown that the lap ointformation 10, illustrated in Fig. 3, is specially serviceable, it being water-tight, and the various sections can be readily locked together in an integral apparatus when the joints have been cemented together, as indicated in Fig.1. It is not intended, however, to limit this invention to any specific style of joint for uniting the respective integral sections together, the gist of the invention residing in the fact that the apparatus, as a Whole, can be readily united together, section by section being Specification of Letters Patent.

added thereto, to meet the requirements of each particular case.
lVorrboard sections 11, of the same general formation, are locked in position to the apparatus, thus enabling the same to be considerably extended.
As illustrated in Figs. 2 and 5, the respective lugs 8 have flat bottom edges for engaging oppositely disposed supporting channel irons or longitudinal braces 12 which are maintained in fixed relation with respect to one another by means of transverse tie rods 13, the channel irons or longitudinal braces being maintained in elevated position by means of supporting legs 14. This construction enables the bottle cooling tank, rinsing tank, and work board sections to be supported by means of their lugs contacting the channel irons or longitudinal braces.
A shield 16, several inches in height, serves to keep the water and other liquids from splashing upon the dress of the attendant.
It will be understood that the various sections comprising this apparatus are made in uniform sections, that the beverage cooling and rinsing tanks or receptacles are integrally cast, and that provision is made for securely locking the respective sections together, forming, in effect, a complete sanitary bar fixture.
The workboard sections can be added to the number desired, thus making the apparatus of considerable length when necessary, and an auxiliary end board 17 of about half the dimensions of the regular sections can be secured to one end of the apparatus for presenting a finished and attractive appearance.
The beverage cooling and rinsing tanks are made in solid cast iron sections having rounded corners and properly enameled, thus making the same sanitary.
This construction enables a bar fixture to be easily and economically installed for the reason that all of the parts comprising this apparatus are of uniform formation. No special measurements are required as regards the place where it is to be installed, and in case a part of the apparatus is in need of repair another similar section can be readily substituted therefor.
What we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A bar fixture comprising separate interchangeable sections, each section interlocking With its adjacent section, longitudinal supports for maintaining the interchangeable sections in desired elevation, lugs formed at the corners of the interchangeable sections for engaging the longitudinal supports, and supporting legs for the longitudinal supports, substantially as described.
2. A bar fixture of sectional formation, the various sections comprising rinsing and cooling tanks and Work boards, each of the sections having lugs adjacent their side Walls and having lap joints for permitting the respective sections to be permanently locked together When the lugs are bolted, longitudinal channel irons for supporting the apparatus in proper position, tie rods spaced between the channel irons, and supporting legs for the channel irons, substantially as described.
