Be it known that I, JOHN AB Pmnsou,

a citizen of the United States, residing at Attica, Kansas, have invented certain new and usefui' Improvements in Harness-Hangers, of

whichthe following is a specification.

My invention relates to harness angers,

and the object of the invention is to provide a simple and efficient device capable of being economically produced by which the harness may be conveniently suspended when not in use. I havealso aimed to provide a hanger which, when not required for supporting har- ,ness, will fold against the wall out of the way. I have also aimed to so construct the hanger that in case of a horse coming in contact with the same while the harness is supported thereby, it will be moved or swayed and thus avoid danger or injury to the animal orbreakage of the hanger.

With this and possibly other objects in view, the invention comprises the particular construction and arrangement of parts hereinafter described and particularly set forth in the appended claims.

Referring by reference characters to this -drawing, the numeral 10 designates a supporting plate which is provided with screw holes by which it may be secured to the stable wall 'or-other convenient place by screws,'as indicated at 11. or may be dropped down out of the way when not in use. A convenient means for locking the arm in such position is a pin 17' designed to be inserted in alining openings 18 in the overlappingparts when the arm 15 is in horizontal posit-ion.

From the foregoing description it is thought that the operation of the device will be perfor supporting the harness, the arm 15 is dropped down out of the Way and lies close against the wall, as shown in Fig. 1. When, however, the harness is to be supported thereby -it is raised in a substantially horizontal position as shown in Fig. 3.

The harness to be supported is then placed upon the arm and by slightly raising it the end of the chain is slipped over thehook 16 provided and serves to hold the harness from slipping off from the arm. The pin may be inserted to hold the arm in a horizontal position, or the chain may be relied upon for this purpose, as desired.

Having thus described my invention, What I claim is 1. In combination, a supporting bracket, a vertically disposed member rotatably held by said supporting bracket, a swinging arm carried by the lower end of said vertical memberand having a hook at its other end, and a chain having one end'connected to the upper end of said vertical member and its other end adapted for engagement with said hook, substantially as described.

In combination a wall bracket having eyes, a vertically disposed member rotatably held in said eyes and having a lug overlapping the uppermost one, an arm pivotally connected to the lower end of "said vertical member and having a hooked outer end, and a chain having one end connected to said lug and its opposite end adapted to engage said hook, substantially as described.
