Specification of Letters Patent.
To all whom it may Be it known that concern: I, HARRY S. HART, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago,
in the county of Cook and State ol Illinois, haveinvented certain new and useful Improvements in Railway-Car Trucks, of which the following is a speciiication.
My invention relates to railway car trucks; and has for its object to provide an improved truck in which provision is made for the ready and quick removal of the bolster.
With this and other objects in view which will hereinafter appear, my invention consists in the combinations and details set forth and claimed. l

In the drawings, I have shown, my invention as applied to a cast metal side traine in which the upper and lower members or arch bars and the column guides are made or cast in an integral piece. The journal boxes may also be cast integralor made separate as dcof the side frame is rovided Wit a removable section over the bollster, whereby when this section is removed lthe bolster may readily be removed from the truck. Side `frames ol' this kind aie well-known in the art and have proven highly eflicient and satisfactory in service. It has been found difficult, however, to construct these east metal side frames in such manner that the removable section will always fit in place, en account of the inequalities which are resent in castings oli' this sort. For economica reasons, no machine work is permissible in making these devices, consequently, it often happens that in castings inequalities appear w iich make it necessary to drive the removable section into position with considerable force. This results in placing an initial tension upon the tension members, which is undesirable. By my invention I provide means whereby the removable section is made of less length than is ordinarily the case and I providea means for adjustably securing this section in position,
