To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, IGNAZ I-IUGo AlAwLrcK, a subject of the Emperor of Germany, and resident of the city and county of San Francisco, State of-California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Baking-Ovens, of which the following is aspecification.

My invention relates to ovens which have a furnace located wholly inside them; and has for its objects, first, to provide improved means for receiving and supporting the loaves in such ovens; second, to provide improved means for readily taking such ovens apart in* order to exchange worn out ieces or to move readily from place to place t e larger sizes of such ovens.

I attain my objects by means illustrated in the accompanying drawings, of which Figure 1 is a front elevation of my invention; Fig. 2, a top view thereof with the cover removed; Fig. 3 a vertical sectional view taken along the line :1c-w, Fig. 1. My invention consists of a rack 1, Fig. 4, arranged to fit loosely inside a chamber in an outer asbestos lined casing 2, and having a plurality of shelves 3, 4, 5, supported in such position as' to register with corresponding closable openings 8, 7, 6, in said outer casing; and of the combinations and arrangements set forth herein.

Describing my rack more particularly, I provide four legs, 9, 10, 11, 12, of angle iron. Between these legs I provide suitable pieces of angle iron extending in parallel planes at various heights, two of which extending from the front legs to the rearI have marked 13, 14, and two, extending along the front, I have marked 15 8c 16, it being understood that the corresponding pieces at the rear, front and sides are similarly constructed and attached. Along these pieces I lay blocks of tiling 17, 18, 19, 20, forming iioors at various levels. One of these floors 17 forms an upper deck, and another 2O a lower deck. Between these decks I provide a plurality of such floors, three of which are marked at 18, 19, and 21; and these are `arran ed at such levels as to stand flush with the ower levels of the corresponding closable openings 6, 7, and 8 in the outer casing, whensaid rack is in position.

Fig. 3 shows the position of said rack, which is inside the chamber inclosed by outer casing 2. The rack is placed in the oven through the open top of the casing 2 when the cover 24 is removed, and by reason of the fact that it does not completely fill the space in the casing, note Fig. 3, and the fact that the frame carrying the shelves passes between the flues 22, 23 Fig. 2, it allows a more perfect circulation of the air in the casing, and also by reason of the fact that the frame is provided with an extra tiled floor below the floor 3 the direct radiation from the iirebox is prevented from striking the first shelf on whichthe 'material to be baked is placed, thus preventing the burning of the materials in the ce'nter of the shelf. Another feature vof the removable baking shelves is that they are not secured to the casing 2 in any manner. The rack is simply placed in its place in the casing, the legs resting on the floor freely.

Outer casing 2 is lined with asbestos, as are the floor of said chamber, and cover 24, in the manner shown.

Cover 24 rests on top of the lining of casing 2, and is held in position by the outer walls ofl said casing.

For purposes of repairs, or for knocking down to render the transportation easy, cover 24 is lifted 0E and rack 1 is drawn out of said chamber. Withdrawing the lines of bolts through flanges shown at 30, 31, in Fig. 1, and the corresponding screws through flanges at the rear, shown at 32, 33, in Fig. 2, separate the parts of outer casing. The doors 35, 36, 37, swing outwardly on hinges 3s, 39 and 40.

I claim:
