To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, WILLIAM O. SHEPARD and CHARLns W. CasoN, Sr., citizens or' the i United Statesfresiding at Camdenr in the county of Camden and State of New Jersey, have invented anew and useful `Umbrella Attachment, of which the following is aspeciiication.

This invention relates to devices for attachment to various articles for sus ending or connecting the same, more particu arly ,to umbrellas for suspending the same from a pocket flap, belt or girdle, or other portion of a garment, when not in use, to prevent displacement or loss of the articie'.

With these and otherobjects in view which will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same consists incertain novel features of construction' as hereafter fully described 'and claimed.

,f In the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, and in which corresponding paijs are denoted by like designatn ing characters,- is illustrated the Vpreferred form of the embodiment of the invention capable of carrying the same into practical operation.

The improved device comprises a plate 10 of sheet metal and'when formed as in Figs. l, 2 and?) is provided with screw or rivet apertures l1 at the ends, be attacliedto the handleportion 12 of'an umbrella, and with an integral tongue 13er(- tendingfrom. one end thereof andv provided I ward the free end 14 and with the tree end with oppositely disposed concavcdV portions, said tongue having its sides converging toalso bont outwardly atthe concaved portions, as indicated in Figs. 1 and 2.
