Be it known that I, AnoLPnUs A. Kiwi son, a citizen of the l'nited States, residing in the borough of Brooklyn, city of New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have nvented certain. new and useful Improvements in Insulating Attachments for Electrical Fixtures, of which the following is a spec fication.

M invention relates to improvements in ins'u ating attachmentsforincandescent-lamp sockets, telephone apparatus, and other electric fixtures.

In the use of electric l'mtures, and particularl y the incandescent electric lights in stores, dwellin s, and other buildings, it has been found t iat persons are frequently injured by touching damp floors or conducting metals which are in electrical connection with the ground at thetime when the hand or other portion of the body is in contact with the electric-1i ht socket or other electric fixture. Such acci ents frequently occur when a hightension current is passing into the lampsocket or other electric fixture and are frequently caused by some accident to the transformer used to convert a high-tension current to the lower-tension current in commercial use or caused through the accidental crossing of wires.

The object of my invention is to provide a method by which this cause of danger may be obviated and at the same time be perinancntly ornamental and )leasing to the eye. I attain these obj cc ts by the device shown in the accompanying drawings, in which an insulav ing covering or jacket is placed upon thelampsocket or other fixture and is fastened by a simple means.

Where the cover is a plied to a desk-telephone stand or simi ar fixture, the same means may be employed, only in suchcase the cover will be longer, so as to cover more exposed surface than in the case of the socket.

An optional form of my device is shown in. Fig. 3, where a tape is used on which a strip 1 is provided on the ed e of the cover A, so that the cover A may be wrapped about the socket, metal telephone parts, or electric light fixtures, and thus adhere to the edge strip I without covering the ornamental portion.

The cover is preferabl made of elastic ma-- terial, so that when app ied to a lamp-socket it may completely surround the metallic surface of same and accommodate itself to any size of socket.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim is'-- i Au insula ing-cover for a lampsocket, con sisting of a section of material substantially rectangular in form, said cover being adapted to be wrap ed around the lamp-socket and to receive t ic key thereof between the adja cent edges of the cover, and means secured adjacent the edges'of said cover at points above and below the key for drawing said cover taut about the socket, the upper end of said cover being "athcred in to engage the small upper end oi thc SOClitt. i
