Be it known that I, 'HENRY F. CLARK, of Lowell, in the county of Kent, and State of Michigan, have invented a new' and useful Improvement in BedfSprings; and I'do declare that the following is a true and accurate description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, and being a part of this specification.

The drawing, which is partially in section, very correctly shows the nature ofrmy invention, which is simply to construct an elastic and economical bed-spring.

In order to accomplish this end, I firmly attach the transverse bars A to the head and foot-board or rail of" any'bedstead B.` To the under side of these bars A are attached the coil or other suitable springs, C, to which are fastened ,the longitudinal slats D. lSurmounting and rigidly attached to the slats D, are other transverse ba1s,rE, to which, upon the top` of the same, are fastenedother longitudinal slats, F.
