SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 756,721, dated April 5, 1904.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, .Laces SILVERBERG, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Pittsburg, in the county of Allegheny vt`0 provide means .for increasing the amount of heat derived from a stove of given dimensions, accomplished by increasing the burner capacity of the stove without increasing the other dimensions.
A still further object of the present invention is to provide a stove adapted for use in the same manner as an ordinary heating-stove, but which in its principle is also adapted for use for mounting on a gas-jet, if so desired.
Briefly described, the invention comprises a shell or casing and a supporting-base therefor, and within the shell or casing is arranged a circular or cylindrical receptacle into which the gas is f'ed from a source of supply and which receptacle is perforated to permit the gas to escape to the point of ignition. On the exterior surface of this receptacle is secured a covering of asbestos to throw 0H' the heat of the burning fuel in a manner well known.` A cluster of the receptacles mayY be arranged within the shell or casing, if so desired, all fed from a common source of supply.v
' The construction in detail will be hereinafter more specifically described and then particularly claimed, and in describing the inven) tion in detail reference will be had tothe accompanying drawings, forming a part of this application, and wherein like numerals of reference will be employed to designate like parts throughout the different views ofthe drawings, in which Figure 1 is a central vertical sectional view of a heating-stove constructed in accordance with my invention. Fig. 2 is a similar view thereof with the shell or casing removed. Fig. 3 is a top plan view with the shell or casing removed. Fig. 4 is a plan view, partly broken away and with the casing or shell removed and the central receptacle in horizontal section. Fig. 5 is a-central vertical sectional view of a modified formof construction. Fig. 6 is a top plan View of another modified form of construction. Fig. 7 is a central vertical sectional view of a part of the interior receptacle in modified construction.
As shown in Figs. 1 to 4 of the drawings, to construct a heating-stove in accordance with my invention I provide a suitable supporting-base 1, which may or may not be provided with supporting-feet 2, as shown. On this base is suitably mounted a cylindrical receptacle which acts as the burner, and in the present construction I have shown a convenient method of fastening, which comprises a screw 3, carried by the base 1, the base 4 of the cylindrical burner 5 being provided with a threaded aperture to receive the screw 3, and thus hold the burner in position. It will of course be evident that equivalent fastening means could be employed without departing from the spirit of the invention. I prefer'to make the cylindrical burner corrugated, as shown, the orifices .6 provided circumferentially in the burner being preferably made in the depressions of theJ corrugations, the exterior of theburner having a covering of non-y combustible material 7, usually of asbestos.
