METHOD OF MAKING SIGNS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 731,846, dated June 23, 1903."

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, CHARLES BLOSSOM and OLIVER W. DYSERT, citizens of the United States, residing at Rockford, in the county of Mercer-and State of Ohio, have invented a new u the following is a specification.
In carrying out our-invention we take sheets of mica and cut them many desired form, IO
"or figures. When so out, these letters, symstyle, size, orshape,eitherin letters, symbols,
hols, or figures are preferably decorated on one side, either by painting, printing, or gilding, until the desired result is obtained as to the character of said symbols. The opposite side of said letters, figures, or symbols is then moistened with a compound of spirits of ammonia and alcohol in equal parts, well mixed together. The letters, symbols, or figures are then applied to glass, either on the inside or outside thereof, forming a permanent sign.
Having thus described our invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
l. The method of making signs which conof mica, moistening one side thereof with a mixture of spirits of ammonia and alcohol, and applying the moistened side of the letters to glass forming a permanent sign, substantially as described.
2. The method'of making signs which consists in cutting out of mica figures, letters or symbols of any suitable form, style, size or shape, and decorating said letters, figures 01' symbols on one side thereof, mois'tening the other side with a mixture of spirits of ammonia and alcohol and pressing the moistened side of said letters, figures or symbols on glass, substantially as described.
