PATENT OFFICIAL* MILK-FAIL SU PP'O RT.
SPEGFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 670,628, dated March l26, 1901.
Application led January 25, 1901. Serial No. 44,706. LNo model.)
will enable others skilled in the art to which` it appertains rto make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specifica-` tion.
This invention relates to improvements in milk-pail -supports wherein the pail is adapted to rest upon the legs of the user, and relates more particularly to that style of supportadapted to be detachably secured to a pail or bucket, so as to be carried from place to place therewith.
The inventionvwill be more clearly understood from the detailed description hereinafter and the appended claim.
In the accompanying drawings, wherein an embodiment of the invention is shown for the purpose of illustration, like letters ofA reference will refer to corresponding parts in the several views.
Figure 1 is a top plan view of the attachment. Fig. 2 is a side elevation, and Fig. 3 is a like elevation with the attachment applied to the pail. 4 I
Referring more specifically to the drawings, A designates a ring or band of a size to be slipped over the bottom of a pail and encompass the same. Disposed at opposite points and projecting laterally from the upper edge of this band A are the flanges B B, separated by the spaces C C. Rests D D, adapted to fit over the limbs of the user, are rigidly secured to the ring A, the one at the near side of one of the spaces separating the anges thereof and the other at the far side of the opposite space, for a purpose to be hereinafter pointed out.
E designates a pail of any usual or preferred construction provided with the ears e, to which may be attached a bail F or other carrying means, as may be found expedient. At diametrically opposite points on the sides of the pail are attached brackets G, comprising the vertical portion g, secured directly to the pail, and the horizontal portion g', provided with the return-bend g2, extending at right angles to the member g and away from the pail. In applying the attachment to the pail it is slipped over the bottom thereof, the spaces C C being brought to register with the brackets, so that the brackets will pass therethrough. The iianges on the attachment are then respectively brought in alinement with the openings in the brackets G and turned so as to pass therethrough. In this manner the attachment may be readily attached to or detached from the pail, and when the bucket is being carried the return-bend g2 will prevent the attachment from falling.
Having thus described my invention, what is claimed as new, and desired to be secured by Letters Patent, is-
InA combination with a pail or the like, sup- 4 porting-brackets comprising the members g secured to the outer surface of the pail, the outwardly-extending members g and the return-bend portions g2, a support for the pail comprising a ring adapted to t thereover, separated outwardly extending iianges on the ring adapted to engage between the members g', g2 of the brackets and be suspended thereby and rests'carried by the ring substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two Witnesses.
WILLIAM C. ADAMS. Witnesses:
