To to whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, CARRIE LAMB, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bradner, in the county of Wood and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in a Combination Kitchen-Table and Ironing- Board; and I do herebydeclare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to combined kitchentables and ironing-boards; and it consists of the details of construction and arrangement of the several parts, which will be more fully hereinafter described and claimed.

The object of the invention is to simplify devices of this character and render them convenient and compact in form and of simple and effective construction and operation, strong and durable, and comparatively inexpensive in the cost of manufacture.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of the table with an ironing-board attached thereto embodying the invention, the said ironing-board being shown extended in full lines and folded in dotted lines. Fig. 2 is a central longitudinal section of the table and ironing-board, the latter being shown folded. Fig. 3 is a section on the line 00 0:, Fig. 1.

Referring to the drawings, wherein similar numerals of reference are employed to indicate corresponding parts in the several views, the numeral 1 designates a table of any preferred construction, but of such form as to adapt it for the intended use. The upper side of the table is formed with an opening 2, extending from end to end thereof and entirely through from bottom to top, the said opening corresponding in outline to the form of an ironing-board and contracted at one end, as clearly shown. The enlarged end of the opening 2 has an enlarged end of an ironing-board 3 pivotally embraced therein, said ironing-board being adapted to fold into the opening 2 and complete the top of the table or be extended from one end, as shown in Fig. 1, and serve as an ironing-board. Extending across the under side of the table at its opposite ends are supports or cross-strips 4, upon which the ironing-board 3 rests when folded into the opening 2. These supports or cross-strips also hold the opposite parts of the table in rigid connection and strengthen the same, as will be readily understood. The end of the ironing-board 3 is held in the opposite walls ofthe opening 2 at the pivotal point thereof by pivot-pins 5, and when the ironing-board is extended, as shown in Fig. 1, it rests on a detachable support consisting of oppositely-disposed legs 6, connected at the top by cross-brace 7 and below the crossbrace 7 is a similar brace S. This support, comprising the legs 6, may be of any contour, but is preferably light.

In order to sustain the vertical position of the support, rear wire hooks 9 and eyes 10 are attached to the said ironing-board and support, the hooks being connected to the legs of the support by eyes and engaging the eyes in the opposite sides of the ironing-board.

In opposite sides of the table suitable drawers 10 will be positioned, one of which may be used to receive the ironing utensils and the other kitchen articles.

The legs of the table and also the support may be suitablyornamented or constructed in a pleasing form and any preferred material may be used in making the several parts.

It is obviously apparent that many minor changes in the details of construction and arrangement of parts might be made and substituted for those shown and described without in the least departing from the nature or spirit of the invention.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is- As an improved article of manufacture, a

vcombined table and ironing-board, the same comprising a table having a supporting-leg at each corner, and a top with an opening therein extending entirely therethrough and corresponding in outline to the shape of an ironing-board,an ironing-board pivotally connected at one end between the side walls of said opening at one end thereof and adapted to be turned on its pivot to extend beyond the end of the table to form an ironing-board, and in the reverse position Ifilling said opening and completing the top of the table, and legs for supporting the outer end of said ironingboard when in its extended positiomaud hooks pivotally mounted on the legs of the ironingboard and engaging eyes on opposite sides of said board to brace said legs, all substantially as shown and described.
