Description

' (No Modl.) H.` LANDGRAF.
SIPHON BOTTLE.
No.552,129'. Patented Deo. 31, 1895.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
HERMAN LANDGRAE, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
SIPHON-BOTTLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 552,129, dated December 31, 1895.
Application tiled March 21, 1895.
To all whom, it may concern,.-
Be it known that I, HERMAN LANDGRAF, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city and county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Siphon-Bottles, which improvement is fully set forth in the following specification and accompanying drawing.
My invention relates to improvements in Siphon-bottles; and it consists in forming the cap of the same with the usual nozzle, having a flange or shoulder thereon for the attachment of the valve and discharge or dispensing mechanism, and another nozzle for the purpose of filling and cleansing the bottle, thus avoiding the removal of the cap from the bottle or of the valve mechanism from its nozzle.
The figure represents a partial side elevation and partial vertical section of a siphonbottle cap embodying my invention.
Referring to the drawing, A designates the cap of a Siphon-bottle, the same having in the present case on the interior of the side wall thereof the screw-threads B, by which the cap may be connected with the neck of the bottle and removed therefrom when desired. Rising from the upperwall of the cap is the nozzle C, with a flange E at its upper end whereby it is adapted to have the valve and dispensing mechanism C attached thereto, said mechanism being shown in dotted lines, it being firmly held on the nozzle C and pre- Serial No. 542,583. (No model.)
Vented from upward displacement owing to its engagement with said iiange or shoulder E, said wall having also thereon the nozzle D, which is open at top and bottom and may be provided with a plug or stopper of any desired construction, it being seen that when the stopper is removed the bottle may be filled or replenished with soda or aerated water or other fluid, after which the nozzle is closed. By this provision the filling and washing or replenishing of the bottle may be accomplished without unseating the mechanism C, thus avoiding the disadvantages of said operation in the time occupied and the required manipulations in removal and restoration of said mechanism, the disturbance of the packing, the liability of breaking the Siphon-tube, &c.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A cap for a siphon bottle provided with the stoppered nozzle D, the nozzle C, and the shoulder E on' said nozzle O, in combination with the valve and dispensing mechanism C which is fitted on said nozzle O and secured to the shoulder E thereof, substantially as described. y
