SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 501,256, dated July 11, 1893.
Application filed September 26, 1892. Serial No. 446,987. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GABRIEL ROHRBAOH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Del Rio, in the county of Val Verde and State of Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Triangles for Billiard-Balls; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
My invention relates to an improvement in triangles for billiard balls, and it consists in the special construction and arrangement of parts which will be fully described hereinafter.
The object of my invention is to construct a triangle, which is simple in construction, and to provide a means for holding the balls when conveying them from the ball holder to the table, and provided with a hinge bottom, so that the balls can be placed on the table, and the triangle removed without disturbing the balls.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a plan view of a triangle, which embodies my invention, the bottom being closed in solid lines ready for use, and open, as shown in dotted lines. Fig. 2, is a side view. Fig.3 is
- a View showing arrangement of the springs wood or metal frame, provided with a movable bottom 0 O, which is hinged at a, with a pin or screw cl and has the extension B in front, bent upward and thence outward, to form a handle to open and close the bottom. The apex of the triangle is made preferably rounded on the outer side as shown. 'lheinside and front edges of the doors are made straight, while the outside is shaped at an angle to conform to the-side D, of the triangle. The handles of the doors slide on the guide E, which is rectangular in form, and has a radius equal to the distance from the hinge or pivot, to the face of the guide and extends far enough to allow the door to be opened the full width, and the ends are secured to the triangle at e. The guide is provided with the spring F F soldered or riveted to the guide at c c, and extending upward at an angle as'it approaches the center, and thence bent downward L' shaped underneath the arm B, to prevent the bottom from being accidentally opened. The guide E has the bridge I), in center to act as a stop for the handle B, and to strengthen the guide E.
Having fully described myinvention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A billiard ball, triangle, comprising the sides D, D, provided with the movable doors 0, O, pivoted at their ends a, and the fixed guide E, on theside of the triangle, provided with the springs F, F, to hold the doors 0, O, in position, substantiallyas described and for the purpose set forth.
