CHARLOTTE CHRISTINA WEBBER, OF SEA CLIFF, NEW YORK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 439,736, dated November 4, 1890.
Application filed July 19,1890. Serial No. 359,334- (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, CHARLOTTE CHRISTINA WEBBER, of Sea Cliff, Queens county, New
York, have invented a new and Improved back of the bib there is secured a downwardlyextending shield 22 by a seam running along the lower edge 17' of the neck-opening a This shield covers the lower part of the bib,
but does not extend to the top of the same. Thus the flaps a at the right and left of slit a and situated above the upper edge of the shield are not covered by the same. These flaps can therefore be folded around the neck of the infant in the proper manner and are fastened together at the back. The shield I) does not follow the flaps 0, around the neck, but is tucked under the clothing, so as to rest upon the chest. In this way the bib is securely held in place and properly protects the infants dress.
What I claim is A childs bib composed of a body a, having flaps a that form upper part of the neck-opening, and of a shield b, secured to the body a at the neck-opening and below flaps 0, the lower part of the shield being free from the body a, substantially as specified.
