Description

(No Model.) A. J. BROUILLARD.
LINE HITGHING DEVICE.
No. 365,965. Patented Jul -5,1887.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
A. JOSEPH BROUILLARD, OF BRISTOL, CONNECTICUT.
LINE-HITCHING DEVICE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 365,965, dated July 5,1887.
(X0 model.)
i'b aZZ whom it may concern.-
Be itknown that I, A. JOSEPH BROUILLARD, of Bristol, in the county of I-lartford and State of' Connecticut, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement pertaining to Line- Hitching Devices, of which the followingis a description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, where the figure is a View of the device embodying my improvement.
As the title of this improvement indicates, it is a line-hitching device.
The letter a denotes a base or frame on which the other operating parts are attached.
The letter 1) denotes a pulley, fixed or rotary, preferably the latter, grooved on its edge for ence of which may be desirable in some adjustments of the line. It will be readily understood that a pull upon either end of the line will have a tendency to pull one of the ec- 25 centrics 0 into closer relations with the pulley 1), thereby jamming the line between the eccentrio and the pulley, so that it will. be held tightly. The base or frame a is of course to be attached to some proper support, and all 0 parts, except the rope, are by preference metallic.
I claim as my improvement-- A combination of the grooved pulley b and i the duplicate eccentric pulleys c, all substan- 35 tially as described, and for the purpose set forth.
A. JOSEPH BRO UILIIARD.
