REVERSIBLE RUCHING FOR LADIES NECK-WEAR.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that l, ALEXANDER BOEHM, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented an Impromment in Ladies Neck \Wear, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.

The obj eet of my invention is to provide certain new and useful improvements in neck -Wear, whereby a better fit of the same is obtained an d it is rendered less apt to become detached, loos ened, or displaced.

The invention consists in ladies"neck-wear such as ruching-provided with a pliable metal spring stiffener concealed within the band of such ruching, which retains the shape given to the article of. neck-wear and renders it re versible.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective View of a pi eee of my improved ladies neck-wear, parts being broken out. Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional View of the same.

Like letters of reference indicate like parts.

The neck-wear A, made of ruching, lace, or any other material usually used for making such articles, is formed with a bottom band or strip, B, to which the ruching or other material is secured, the said band or strip being hollow. In the said hollow strip or band I conceal a pliable spring, O, made of metal.

The neck-wear can be bent in any desired shape and to bring either side out, and will always form handsome curves, and will fit well against the neck and in the neck-openin of the dress. It need not be pinned or otherwise fastened at the back, and need only be held in front by the usual breastpin, it is not easily displaced, an d retains its shape perfectly, whereby the neck-wear is made more durable.

I do not claim a collar having a stiffeningspring ot'definite length attached to the collarband.

My invention is applicable to ruchings and the like of indefinite length.

The ruching can be cut into pieces of desired length, the spring being cut at the same time, and the ruchin g can then be put around a wrist or neck and afterward reversed, if desired.

I claim- The reversible ruching having concealed within its band B the pliable metal spring O, substantially as herein shown and described.
