VVWith this thought in mind 'this-invention' contemplates a Storm 'door having avsash frame `hingedin an opening in the uppergpart thereof;v with' a screen coveringsaid opening; and with hinges" coacting with a convention'aldoor 4'hinge and having "extended arms for supporting-the sash frame wherebythe sash, is adapted to cover the opening of the door and also adapted to swing outwardly to open said opening.
The object' of this invention is, therefore, to
provide meansfor'f'ormin'g acombination screen and storm door whereby the doonmay remain in positionthroughout theyear land-ay sash therein maybe opened to provide ventilation through the screen when desired. 'i i 'l v `Another object of the invention is to provide a. hinge having an extended arm whereby. with thejconventional hinge plates secured to'jthe edges u of a'door'and jamb, respectively, the arm extends to providemouting'im'ea'ns for a storm sash frame in the door.
l vAnotherobject oi th'einve tion is togprovide a combination screen and storm door in which both the screen and sash are readily removable and replaceable to facilitate repairing the parts.
A further object of the invention is to provide a combination screen and storm door wherein the lights of a storm sash hinged in the door may be provided with spaced panels of glass providing insulating air cells in the sash.
A still further object of the invention is to provide'a combination screenv and storm door which is of a simple and economical construction.
j ,Wirth these Y and other objects and advantages inviewthe inventionembodies' a door for an outside-door franie'offaV dwelling or the like,- and having an opening through the upper partv'theree of, Aa ,wire meshfscrefen providing a A:cover for said opening offtheidoor and positioned on the inside of thedoon' asash frame positioned in the outer edge ofthe openingthrough thefdoor, and a pair-'of hinges withj extendedjarms for hingedly -inounting said vsash frameon the door and frame. v@ther features and-'advantagesof the invention will' appear' from `the following' description taken' in connection "withthedrawings, wherein: Figurelisjajperspective fview illustrating the combination screen andf'storm door f this invention showing 'thej'do'or n ciiinted "in:v a vdoor frame, and showing-b'othgthe 'door and sash frame in partly openpositions-l" A i A Y Figure ,2fis zin/elevational viewshowing vthe `upper partof Ia doorframe', 'with the parts shown `lon'anienlarged scale, and with parts'broken away.

The dooris 'formed with siderails 34 Aandtt, a top'rail'v 3 8,[a"b ottorn` raii`140,' "and an intermediate rail 42'., The side rails are Aprovided with recesses 44 and 46, respectively, the top rail with a recess 48,'an'd the intermediate rail, with a recess 50, and the sash frame I6 is fitted to nest in the said recesses. i
In the design shown, the sash frame is provided with side bars 52 and 54, upper and lower bars 56 and 58, and intermediate bars 60 and 62. Each of the openings between the bars of the sash frame is provided with two panes of glass, as indicated by the numerals 64 and 66, and the glass panes are separated wthspacing strips 68, which i provide sealed or heat insulating vacuum pockets 10 between the panes. The glass panes 64 and 66 are secured in grooves 12 in the inner edges of the bars of the sash frame by molding strips or the like, as indicated by the numeral 14. Y
The wire mesh I4 is attached to the inner surface `of the door by strips 16 which extend ccntinuously around the opening I2.
The sash frame is suspended by the arms 22 `from upper hinges 18 and 80, and each of the hinges 18 and 80 is provided with a pintle 82 that.
