The present invention relates "to devices for removing facial wrinkles and more particularly to the headband type.

An object of this invention is to provide a novel and improved device of the character mentioned, wherein the headband automatically adjusts itself to the required head size when donned, and in addition, functions whereby it accomplishes a resilient skin-pulling action at a given facial zone, in such manner as to smooth out the face between applicator pads carried by said band.

Another object is to provide a wrinkle removing device with applicator pads of novel and improved construction, which grip the face gently and insure a substantial gripping area, and are detachably mounted to facilitate replacement, if so desired.

A further object of this invention is to provide a device of the type described, of novel and improved construction and having a novel mode of operation, and which is easy to use, reasonably cheap to manufacture and eflicient in carrying out the purposes for which it is designed.

Other objects and advantages will become apparent as this disclosure proceeds.

In the accompanying drawings forming part of this application, similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the views.

Fig. 1 is a perspective view of an embodiment of this invention.

In the drawings, the numeral I5 indicates a tubular sleeve made of elastic contractile fabric, within which are housed a pair of bowed blade springs l6 and IT, in surface contact slidabl relation, to encompass the head of a wearer. One end of each of said blade springs is secured in any suitable manner to a corresponding end of said sleeve 15. An applicator pad 18 is mounted at one end of said sleeve, and another pad [9 is mounted at the other end of said sleeve l5. Each such pad may include a thin, flexible plastic or metal disc 20, which serves as a backing for a sponge, sponge rubber or other suitable pad member 2|, and as a mount for a glove snap component 22, adapted for detachable engagement with a complementary snap component 23, at each end of the tubular member l5. It is 1 Claim. (01.- 128-76) practical that these snap components 23 shall also serve to secure the blade spring ends to the sleeve l5. Although such mode of attachment is not specifically shown, it will be readily understood to those versed in the mechanical arts. The head band thus formed and indicated generally by the numeral 24 is to be positioned to encompass the back of the head in the embodiment illustrated, with the pads l8 and I9 in contact with th face, in the region of the nose, mouth or eyes, at identical zones, so that a pull of the skin towards the back of the head by each of the pads, due to the stressed condition of the sleeve l5, while the device is being worn, will accomplish a stretching of any wrinkled skin between the pads.

It is desirable to include a supplementary head band. over the top of the head, as for instance formed by the elastic tapes 25 and 26, joined by sewing at their mid points 21, and at their respective ends to the elastic tubular member of sleeve 15, or in any other suitable manner, This supplementary head band is designated generally by the numeral 28. For upward face-lifting action, the device is worn so that head band 24 is over the top of the head, and head band 28 is about the back of the head. The length of the head band 24 measured along the elastic sleeve I5 is such that the latter need be stretched when donned on the head.

In operation, the device is applied to the head as shown in Figs. 2 and 3, or otherwise explained herein. Tubular sleeve I5 will be stretched and thus tensed. While stretching, said tubular sleeve l5 will pull along the forward ends of the respective bowed steel springs l6 and H which will slidingly move with respect to each other to the head size. This adjustment for size of headband 24 will be automatic upon placement of the device in position on the head. There will be a constant but resilient pull in opposite directions on the skin of the face between the pads l8 and it which frictionally grip the face due to the bowed shape of the springs I8 and I1. lhe intensity of such pull will be determined by the tension in the elastic sleeve or tubular mem ber l5. The backing member 20 insures even gripping contact of the pad over its entire surface in contact with the persons face. When worn down, spoiled, or soiled, the pads may be removed for cleaning or replacement.

This invention is capable of numerous forms and various applications without departing from the essential features herein disclosed.
