Referringto the drawing, the shoe supporting plated j.comprises a bodyconvsisting ci a 'metallic plate/*having integrallyy formedtherewith and .on the underside.. thereof, at or adjacent its ends, longitudinally extending medially situated bosses f2;YYc'onnectedl at their inner extremities rby means A.ofspacedribs .or stiieners 3,3..
'^As the mechanism at the respective-ends, differ in no essentialpoint, a description of one it is thought vvillsuiilce for both.
In each boss there is provided a longitudinally extending smooth cylindrical bore 4, centrally .located in the longitudinal axis of the shoe `plate. The bore extends inwardly to provide an exceptionally long, bearing for the cylindrical plug 5 that is held against turning movement within the saidjborevby means of the reduced end Lportion ofthe'plugthat engages inthe slot'l that'rextends downwardly from the top surface of the shoe plate perpendicular to the longitudinal axis thereof. This slot stops short of penetrating the thickness of the boss. The slot interrupts the continuity of the thread where it enters the vertical threaded bore 8 in the boss, adapted to receive the threaded portion of the bolt 9. The reduced end portion of the cylindrical plug is provided with an inclined plane i0 adapted to engage and cooperate with the truncated conical end portion I l of the threaded bolt.
In the cylindrical plug, in the end remote from its reduced end portion there is provided a socket I2 for engaging the ball-shaped head I3 of similar parts 2 claims. -In the platforln15; there is provided a Vref moi/ably mounted'seat .or :bearing :I -machined tobe .pressed :into the ,bore .-l 9 adaptedfto receive it. The seat is `provided with an annular shoulder 2i) to prevent thesseatbeing'pressed beyond. Aits predetermined location inthe lplatformx'lhe 'seat maybe made of special highigradealloy, steelaand this :unique improvement enables'theseat to .retain ts accuracy of shape I.overafleng period-and reduces wearo-the.seatztoaminimum.

This obyiates the ,risk'of incorrect :positioning of. the truck :when itis tilted on the ball-slmpcdheadin ymaking adjustments of the truck relative thereto.
'The truck is vprovided .with an upstanding flange 2.2 .adapted'to prevent spreading of ,the lower portion Tof lthe resilient truncated conical cushioning `member .23 inxrnaking and retaining adjustments.
`O'n :the utop surface of the cushioning 'member there is provided V-a vmetallic washer 2l!v on vvwhich the flockV nut T2 5 bears. The 4lock 'nut is `provided "to lock the boitin position after the adjustment has been made. "The headof thebolt is/provided'with a :slot `26-to take/a screw driver or the like in making ltheladjustinent.
The axle 21 is'non-rota'tably mounted in the truck structure, and the rollers 28 arevremovably mounted thereon.
The operation of the device is as follows:
When it is necessary to take up the play of the seat on the bolt head, the boltY is loosened by releasing the lock nut thereon. The bolt is then turned in the proper direction. If clockwise, as Y the bolt is turned up in the threaded bore in the boss, the truncated conical end ofthe bolt, n which is in engagement with the'inclined planev cylindrical plug. The member with the ballshaped head is connected to the platform of the truck. The resilient member mounted on the platform of the truck resists the adjustment and accommodates itself to its adjusted position thereon. The adjustment of the cylindrical plug causes the platform to tilt, and the resilient conical member mounted thereon holds the cylindrical plugin engagement with the conical end of the bolt,- thus maintaining the adjustment. It is obvious that theadjustment may be vice versa.
It will accordingly be seen that I have provided a construction which satises the objects of the invention, and while I have shown the invention in a certain physical embodiment, it is to be understood that modifications of structure may be made by those skilled inthe art without departing from' the invention as claims which follow.
What is claimed is:
