This invention relates to a hair drier, and has for its object to provide such a device as will force many small jets or streams of air through the hair adjacent the root ends thereof.

Another object of the invention is to provide an attachment for a hair drying apparatus through means of which many independent jets of air may be forced both up and down.

A further object of the invention is to provide a tubular head rest having a series of perforations through which air may be blown through hair adjacent the scalp as well as that hanging below the scalp.

Another object of the invention is to provide a tubular bracket for supporting a perforated head rest for spraying air through the hair.

A still further object of the invention is to provide a perforated tubular head rest, supported by a tubular bracket connected to an air blower and means whereby the same may be vertically adjusted.

With the above and such other objects in View as may hereinafter more fully appear, I have invented the device shown in the accompanying drawing, in which:

Figure 1 is a side elevational view of my invention;

Figure 2 is a front levational view thereof;

Figure 3 is a rear elevation;

Figure 4 is a bottom plan view;

Figure 5 is a longitudinal vertical section of the head rest nozzle; and

Figure 6 is a fragmentary vertical cross-section on the line 6-6 of Fig. 2.

Lik reference characters indicate like parts throughout the following specification and in the several views in the drawing in which I indicates my improved hair drier, which comprises an electric blower 2, into the outlet end 3 of which is threaded a reduced pipe 4, having its other end 5 threaded into a combined adjustable pipe connection and clamp collar 6. Attached to the blower is an electric motor 2a. This latter member has an outlet I to which is connected, the sinuous bracket tube 8, the substantially horizontal end 9 of which is connected to a preferably flattened tube I0, the upper and lower edges I I and I2 of which are provided with a series of closely connected perforations I3 and I4 respectively. The ends I5 and I6 of said last tube are closed. The collar 6 is adapted to be vertically adjusted upon a supporting post I I.

From the foregoing description it will be ob- ViOus that I have provided an inexpensive combined head rest and hair drier, (readily adjustable to individual users) so formed that th air I claim to be new and will be forced into the hair at its roots as well as at its ends, and all intermediate portions thereof. If found desirable an inflexible cap slightly held from contact with the head may be used in connection with the air nozzle and attached thereto.

Particular attention is called to the fact that the concav d surface I8 Of the member I0 is imperforate and that the streams of air are emitted from th upper and lower edges of the sprayer, not only directing the air sprays up around the scalp and down through the flowing hair, but in order that the air vents may not be closed by the head or neck resting thereagainst.

By referring to Figures 1 and 2 it will be noted that my device is so constructed that it may be used with the blower and motor in either upright or depending position according to th particular requirement.

Having now described my invention, that which desire to procure by Letters Patent is:

1. In a hair drier, an air blower, a blower pipe, a tubular bracket, a hollow clamp collar connected to and communicating with the blower pipe and bracket, and a transversely connected flattened arcuate tube on the end of said bracket remote from the said hollow clamp collar, the ends of the said flattened arcuate tube being sealed, and the narrow edges thereof being perforated.

2. A hair drier including a supporting member, a hollow clamp-collar adjustably secured to said supporting member, hollow pipes connected to and communicating with said collar, a blower alfixed to one of said pipes and communicating therewith at the end remote from said clampcollar, the other of said pipes being sinuous, and

a curved and flattened tube affixed thereto at the end of said sinuous pipe remote from the said clamp-collar, the said curved and flattened tube having its ends closed and its edge perforated, and the approximate center thereof communicating with said sinuous pipe.

3. In a hair drier, a hollow clamp collar adapted to be adjustably secured to an approximately vertical support, an air blower, a tube affiXed to and communicating with said air blower and the said clamp-collar, a second tube affixed to and communicating with said clamp-collar, and a curved and flattened tube affixed, at the approximate center thereof, to and communicating with the said second-mentioned tube, the said flattened tube having a plurality of perforations along the edges thereof.
