JOHN W. WOLOOTT, OF CLYDE, OHIO.
IMPROVEMENT IN WORK-BASKET STANDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 221,711, dated November 18, 1879; application filed March 14, 1879.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN W. WOLco'rT, of Clyde, in the county of Sandusky and State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Work-Basket Stands, which improvement is fully set forth in the following specification and accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view.
This invention relates to work-baskets; and it consists in providing a stand or support for the basket, composed of a center-post, curved or bent supporting-splints, and crossed or bracing splints, constructed and combined as hereinafter described and claimed.
In the drawing, A is a basket made from splints, which may be lined with silk or other suitable material, and be arranged with pockets, if desired, and ornamented with fringe and tassels.
The splints may be secured together with tacks or small nails having ornamental heads.
B is a stand, consisting of a center-post, b,
and the curved splints c c, the said splints c 0 being secured at their middle part to the said post I) by ornamental nails (1, their upper ends being spread and secured to the bottom of the basket A. The lower ends of the said splints c c are spread and secured to the foot-pieces e e, which are bent in the form of semicircular bows, and which cross each other at their middle, and are secured at their intersection to the lower end of the said post b, the said splints c c and e 0 being secured together with ornamental nails, the whole forming a light and neat support for the basket.
Having described my invention, I claim- The basket-stand B, consisting of the centerpost I), curved supporting-splints c c, and curved and crossed bracing-splints em, all constructed and combined substantially as described. a
