1 Claim.
It is particularly aimed to provide a vault of lthis character which is metal lined, with its body mainly made of concrete or cementitious material capable of being molded thereon, a structure which will be airtight, watertight and verminproof, in construction which will be stable throughout the years without danger of separation of the metal and concrete or distortion cir the metal and one which may be removed without fracture after years of burial, and a construction which particularly has an offset to facilitate attachment of a lowering device.
The more specific objects and advantages willl become apparent from a consideration of the description following taken in connection with the accompanying drawing illustrating an operative embodiment.

Figure 3 is an enlarged longitudinal sectional view taken on the line 3-3 of Figure 2.
Referring specifically to the drawing wherein like reference characters designate like or similar parts, the vault is built in two sections, that is a base section generallyk designated I 0 and a cover or container section generally designated II. Such sections are adapted to be separately cast from concrete or cementitious material I 2, the base I0 having a marginal depending rib or flange I3 and the cover section `I I preferably having a marginal groove I4 within the lower end and the base of the section I2 preferably being outwardly enlarged or provided with a rib as at I5, for reinforcement.
Section I2 is cast with oifset or the like I6 thereon at the end walls, to facilitate engagement by lifting devices.
A metallic lining member I8 is provided within the section I2, covering the top, side and end walls. The base Ill has a lining member I9 disposed thereon Whose edges meet and accurately fit the lining member I8,such member I9 extending within the member I8 as shown in the drawing. Such lining members are of avsuitable metal such as steel, zinc or copper, and they prevent the penetration of moisture from the exterior 5 through the concrete to the casket sealed within the vault.
When manufacturing these sections IU and II suitable forms or molds are provided and lugs 20 are solderedor otherwise fastened to the 10 lining members I8 and I9. Such lugs may be ordinary corrugated nails or screws. The concrete or cementitious material I2 is molded or poured onto the lining members within the molds or forms, and the lugs 20 securely anchor the 15 lining to the concrete, so that there is and will always be an intimate iit between the same, without kany bulging or distortion of the lining members I8 and I9, such as would permit the entrance vof air, moisture or otherwise be injurious.
It will be realized that after the casket is placed on the lining member I9, cover section II is applied and thereafter the junction between tle sections at the recess I4 is effectively sealed in any suitable manner, by cemetitious material or 25 a liquid sealing compound or otherwise.
Various changes may be resorted to provided they fall within the spirit and scope of the invention. i
I claim as my invention:
A vault of the class described comprising sections adapted to be sealed together, said sections each having a concrete wall and lining of imperforate metal on the inner surface of such wall, anchor members secured to the outer surface of 35 the lining members and eXtendingjinto the concrete, one of said sections having top, side and end walls, said side walls being interiorly cutaway from their lower edges outwardly beyond the lining of such section, and the other section 40 fitting said cutaway portions and having its metallic lining contacting the lower edges of the metallic lining of the companion section.
