This invention relates to hangers, or supports, and particularly garment supports.

The principal `object of my invention is to `provide an improved garmentsupport or hanger, which is made from flexible sheet material.

Another object is to provide an improved garment hanger, or support, which is made of 'nonmetallic flexible sheetV material and which' is provided with rounded shoulders where contact is made with the garment carried thereby,` and which has a metal carrier hook connected therewith.

A third object to provide an improved garment hanger which is Ymade from a single piece of cardboard having sloping rounded shoulders and which has a carrier hook vconnected therewith.

Other and more specific objects of my invention are mentioned and `described herein.v

Referringto Figure 5 of the drawing, wherein the blank form is illustrated, Vand which may be made of cardboard, or any other suitable flexible material, the numeral 2 indicates the front wall of the hanger body, and numerals 3 and 4 indicate the two rear wall flaps, or sections, which are bendable on the lines 5 and 6, respectively, to place said rear wall sections in opposed relation with said front wall, as is hereinafter described, the juxtaposition whereof is clearly illustrated in Figure 1 of the drawing.

The two rear wall sections 3 and 4 are separated by the ap 'I, which is cut from the cardboard body, and which is bendable toward the front wall 2 on line 8 and which is adapted to carry the hanger hook 9, as hereinafter described. The points I IJ and II of the two rear wall sections 3 and 4, respectively, are adapted to overlap, when said wall sections are folded into opposed relation with the front wall 2, as indicated clearly in Fig. l, and when thus folded into overlapping relation the flap 'I is secured to the overlapping portions of said rear wall secwwhich the ilap 23 extends, the latter .being protions in any suitable manner, as, for example, by Wire staples I2. In this position of the flap 'I thearm or shank I3 of the Wire hook 9 is hingedly secured beneath said flap, thereby disposing said-hook at the apex of the two sloping lshoulders VI4 and I5 of the body of the support.

The numeral I6 indicates the bottom wall of the support body which bottom wall extends along the lower longitudinal portion of the front wall 2 and which is bendable on the line I'I at 10 substantially right angles to said front wall. 'I'he bottom wall I6 may have the nap I8 formed along thelower marginal edge thereof and which is adapted `to be bent at substantially right angles upwarcuy on the une I9, said flap ls having'a 15 pair of fastener flaps 20 and 2I formed thereon at Vthe outer longitudinal marginal edge thereof. The outer end of the rear wall section 3 is provided with the angular marginal edge 22 from vided with the hooked fastener iiap 24 at the 0 outer edge thereof, there being a `similar angular marginal edge 25 formed at the outer edgeof the rear wall 4, the marginal edge 25 being provided with the hooked fastener flap 21 on the outer endv'of nap 26 which is formed on said rear wall. Y

A plurality of strips, or tongues'are iormed,'by .suitable'slittin'g of the body stock, Iat 32 at the outer end'of each rear wall section and the front wall to impart exibility to the outer end of each Yof the two shoulders I4 and I5.

The finished form of my improved garment hanger, or support, requires that the bottom I6 be bent at substantially right angles to the front wall 2, also the bending of the bottom Wall iap I8 at right angles to the latter, thereby forming a trough-like bottom for the hanger body. The two rear wall sections 3 and 4 are then bent downward on the angular lines 5 and 6 to bring the points I0 and II thereof into overlapping relation to enable the flap 'i to be fastened to both of the latter by the staples I2. In this position 50 of the parts the two fastener flaps 20 and 2I are moved into close relation with the slits 28 Y and V29, respectively, and thrust therein, and the flaps 23 and 26 are bent across the exterior of the bottom Wall I6, in which position of said Vflaps the hooked ilaps 24 and 21 are thrustv'into the retaining slits 3I'Ir and 3 I, respectively, thereby firmly securing the rear wall sections 3 and 4 tothe front wall 2 adjacent therbase thereof, and fastening the bottom I6 tothe two rear Wall sections, as described. q

j thek rounded shoulders I4 and I5 are broad and curved to eliminate wrinkling and creasing of the Vgarment carried in contact therewith, and the tongues 32 formed at the outer ends of said shoulders impart great flexibility to vthe shoulder ends, whereby injury to -adelicate fabric is prevented.
