- The disclosure and prior art relates to covering devices and more particularly pertains to a new covering device for protecting a user's face and neck during hair treatment.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a hair cap that is worn over hair on a head when a fluid treatment has been applied to the hair. Thus, the hair cap inhibits the fluid treatment from spilling onto a user's face and neck. A first brim is coupled to the hair cap and the first brim angles rearwardly away from a back of the user's head when the hair cap is worn. A second brim is coupled to the hair cap and the second brim is positioned on an opposite side of the hair cap from the first brim. The second brim angles forwardly away from the user's forehead when the hair cap is worn.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a bottom perspective view of a hair covering assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a back view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a right side phantom view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new covering device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 4 , thehair covering assembly 10 generally comprises ahair cap 12 that is worn over hair on a head 14 when a fluid treatment has been applied to the hair. Thus, thehair cap 12 inhibits the fluid treatment from spilling onto a user's face 16 and neck 18. The fluid treatment may be hair dye or other fluid that can be irritating to human skin. Thehair cap 12 has an inwardly facingsurface 20 and aperimeter edge 22. The inwardly facingsurface 20 is concavely arcuate with respect to theperimeter edge 22 such that thehair cap 12 forms a dome-like shape. - The
perimeter edge 22 defines anopening 24 into thehair cap 12 to receive the user's head 14. Thehair cap 12 is comprised of a deformable and fluid impermeable material. Moreover, thehair cap 12 has achannel 26 therein and thechannel 26 is aligned with and is coextensive with theperimeter edge 22. Thechannel 26 may be an integral structure with respect to thehair cap 12, thechannel 26 may be in independent structure that is coupled to thehair cap 12 and thechannel 26 may be formed by rolling thehair cap 12 onto itself. Additionally, thechannel 26 has a pair ofterminal ends 28 that are spaced apart from each other. - A
band 30 is coupled to thehair cap 12 and theband 30 abuts the user's skin when thehair cap 12 is worn. Theband 30 is comprised of a fluid absorbent material to absorb the fluid treatment that passes between the user's skin and thehair cap 12. In this way theband 30 inhibit the fluid treatment from leaving thehair cap 12 and contacting the user's face 16 or neck 18. Theband 30 is positioned on the inwardly facingsurface 20 of thehair cap 12. Moreover, theband 30 is aligned with and is coextensive with theperimeter edge 22 of thehair cap 12. - A
first brim 32 is coupled to thehair cap 12 and thefirst brim 32 is oriented to angle rearwardly away from a vertical centerline of thehair cap 12. Thus, thefirst brim 32 angles rearwardly away from a back of the user's head 14 when thehair cap 12 is worn. Thefirst brim 32 has afirst edge 34 and asecond edge 36, and thesecond edge 36 is concavely arcuate with respect to thefirst edge 34. Thefirst edge 34 is aligned with thechannel 26 in thehair cap 12 having thesecond edge 36 curving upwardly on thehair cap 12. Thefirst brim 32 may be comprised of a deformation resistant material thereby supporting thehair cap 12 away from the hair when thehair cap 12 is worn. - A
second brim 38 is coupled to thehair cap 12 and thesecond brim 38 is positioned on an opposite side of thehair cap 12 from thefirst brim 32. Thesecond brim 38 is oriented to angle forwardly from the vertical centerline of thehair cap 12. Thus, thesecond brim 38 angles forwardly away from the user's forehead 14 when thehair cap 12 is worn. Thesecond brim 38 has aprimary edge 40 and asecondary edge 42, and thesecondary edge 42 is concavely arcuate with respect to theprimary edge 40. Theprimary edge 40 is aligned with thechannel 26 in thehair cap 12 having thesecondary edge 42 curving upwardly on thehair cap 12. Additionally, thesecond brim 38 may be comprised of a deformation resistant material thereby supporting thehair cap 12 away from the hair when thehair cap 12 is worn. Thefirst brim 32 may have a height and a width greater than that of thesecond brim 38. - A
mating member 44 is provided and themating member 44 is coupled to thehair cap 12. Themating member 44 is matable to itself when thehair cap 12 is worn thereby retaining thehair cap 12 on the user's head 14. Themating member 44 has afirst end 46 and asecond end 48, and themating member 44 is slidably positioned in thechannel 26. Additionally, themating member 44 extends outwardly through each of theterminal ends 28 of thechannel 26 having each of the first 46 and second 48 ends being exposed. Themating member 44 is tightened around the user's head 14 when thehair cap 12 is worn and thefirst end 46 is mated to thesecond end 48. - In use, the
hair cap 12 is worn over the hair when the fluid treatment has been applied to the hair. Thefirst brim 32 is positioned on the user's forehead and thesecond brim 38 is positioned on the back of the user's head 14. Themating member 44 is tightened on the user's head 14 and themating member 44 is mated to itself. Thehair cap 12 and theband 30 inhibit the fluid treatment from contacting the user's neck 18 and face 16 while the fluid treatment is on the hair. Thehair cap 12 is worn until such time that the fluid treatment is to be washed from the hair. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
