Abstract

A harness manufactured from transverse and longitudinal fabric belts with adjustable buckles attached to the ends of the belts and shoulder straps attached to the longitudinal belts that while fastened around the suitcase converts a carry-on suitcase into a backpack. At least one transverse fabric belt is intended to be strapped around the suitcase and two longitudinal belts strapped around the suitcase in longitudinal direction. The adjustable buckles provide tightening of the belts strapped around the suitcase. The shoulder straps attached to the longitudinal belts allows carrying the suitcase on ones back in easy and convenient manner.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • a) Field of the invention
  • The field of the invention is accessories for the carry-on suitcases, in particular, a webbing harness constructed of the material stripes sawed in the interconnecting areas with attached shoulder straps and buckles at the ends is used to wrap around a carry-on size suitcase in such way that one can carry it as a backpack.
  • b) Prior art
  • Typically carry-on suitcases are designed to contain rollers and be pooled by a retractable handle or to have handles and be carried. Either design requires use of one hand. Carry-on suitcases with rollers are slowing person's walk and frequently make walking difficult due to interference with feet. The suitcases that are designed to be carried make person tired if long walk is necessary.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • This invention represents an accessory that converts a carry-on suitcase in to a back-pack by fastening a harness with attached shoulder straps around the suitcase. The harness is manufactured from the transverse and longitudinal fabric belts with adjustable buckles attached to the ends of the belts and shoulder straps attached to the longitudinal belts that while fastened around the suitcase converts a carry-on suitcase into a backpack. At least one transverse fabric belt is intended to be strapped around the suitcase and two longitudinal belts strapped around the suitcase in longitudinal direction. The adjustable buckles provide tightening of the belts strapped around the suitcase. The shoulder straps attached to the longitudinal belts allows carrying the suitcase on ones back in easy and convenient manner
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1. Three orthogonal views of the carry-on suitcase harness: rear side view (left upper corner); right side view (right upper corner); and top side view (left lower corner)
FIG. 2. Orthogonal view—rear side view
FIG. 3. Orthogonal view—right side view
FIG. 4. Orthogonal view—top side view
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION AND PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • According to the FIGS. 1-4 the present invention is comprised of at least two longitudinal fabric belts 21 that have buckles 23 at the ends and are spaced in transverse direction (FIG. 2) and coiled such that the ends are buckled (FIG. 3). At the side of the coiled belts 21 opposite to the buckles 23 at least three transverse belts (25 and 22) are attached. At least two transverse belts 25 are shorter and attached to the middle section of the longitudinal belts at their ends providing constant transverse spacing between the longitudinal belts 21 (FIGS. 2,4). At least one transverse belt 22 is longer and has buckles 24 at its ends. This belt 22 is coiled such that the ends are buckled (FIG. 3). Coiled and buckled longitudinal belts 21 and transverse belt 22 are used to wrap around a suitcase. Adjustable buckles 23 and 24 allow tightening the belts and in such manner firmly harnessing the suitcase. On the opposite side of the coiled longitudinal belts 21 the padded adjustable shoulder straps 26 are attached. The buckles 27 in the shoulder straps 26 allow shortening the strap length and adjusting to firmly wrap around ones shoulder for comfort.
  • The fabric type, width, and thickness of the belts of the webbing harness are selected to provide strength needed for reliable and durable utilization of the suitcase harness. The buckles can be selected to provide double or single adjustment of the belt length.
