Abstract

An aglet assembly for a shoelace includes a tubular member firmly mounted to a restriction tube fastening to the distal end of the shoelace. The first end of the tubular member is pressed to form a narrow section so as to tightly mount the tubular member onto the restriction tube. An end cap is threadedly connected the second end of the tubular member.

Description

    FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to an aglet assembly for shoelaces and the aglet assembly is securely connected to a distal end of the shoelace.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • A conventional shoelace generally includes two distal ends and each distal end is connected with an aglet assembly which forms a solid and tubular assembly and is easily to be extended through eyelets in the flaps of shoes. Some conventional aglet assemblies are made by a tubular member which is glued to the distal end of the shoelace and is easily separated from the shoelace. Some aglet assemblies include a male part and a female part which is connected with the male part to form a tubular aglet assembly. However, the male part on the shoelace is difficult to be firmly connected to the shoelace so that the aglet assembly might be collapsed during frequent impact.
  • The present invention intends to provide an aglet assembly for shoelaces wherein the tubular member has one end firmly connected to a distal end of the shoelace and the other end of the tubular member is threadedly connected to an end cap. The aglet assembly includes a reliable and strong connection relationship between the parts thereof.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to an aglet assembly for a shoelace which includes a distal end with a restriction tube mounted thereto, and the aglet assembly comprises a tubular member which has a passage so as to receive the restriction tube therein. A first end of the tubular member is pressed to form a narrow section which tightly mounts the tubular member onto the restriction tube.
  • The primary object of the present invention is to provide an aglet assembly for a shoelace wherein the aglet assembly is firmly connected to the shoelace and is not separated.
  • The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view to show the aglet assembly of the present invention;
  • FIG. 2 is an exploded view to show the aglet assembly of the present invention;
  • FIG. 3 shows that the tubular member is to be pressed;
  • FIG. 4A shows that the ring and the end cap are to be mounted to the tubular member, wherein the narrow section includes four outer surfaces;
  • FIG. 4B shows that the ring and the end cap are to be mounted to the tubular member, wherein the narrow section includes six outer surfaces, and
  • FIG. 5 is a cross sectional view to show the aglet assembly of the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • Referring to FIGS. 1, 2, 3 and 4A, the aglet assembly for a shoelace 10 of the present invention comprises a tubular member 20 which has a passage defined axially therethrough and the distal end of the shoelace 10 is fastened by a restriction tube 11 which is received in the passage of the tubular member 20. The tubular member 20 includes a first end 21 and a second end 22, wherein the first end of the tubular member 20 is pressed to form a narrow section which so as to tightly mount the tubular member 20 onto the restriction tube 11. The narrow section includes multiple outer surfaces such as four outer surface as shown in FIG. 4A or six outer surfaces as shown in FIG. 4B.
  • The second end 22 of the tubular member 20 includes a threaded section 23 which includes outer threads defined in an outer periphery of the second end 22 of the tubular member 20. An annular shoulder 24 is defined in a conjunction portion between a root portion of the threaded section 23 and an outer periphery of the tubular member 20. A ring 40 is mounted to the threaded section 23 and rested on the annular shoulder 24.
  • Further referring to FIG. 5, an end cap 30 includes a first end with inner threads and an annular recess 31 is defined in an inner periphery of the first end of the end cap 30. The inner threads in the first end of the end cap 30 are threadedly engaged with the threaded section 23 and the ring 40 is received in the annular recess 31 in the end cap 30. The second end of the end cap 30 is a closed end.
  • The narrow section ensures the connection between the distal end of the shoelace 10 and the tubular member 20, and the number outer surfaces can be made as desired. Besides, the end cap 30 can be engraved or printed patterns, trademarks or even characteristics when needed.
  • While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Claims (5)

1. An aglet assembly for a shoelace which includes a distal end with a restriction tube mounted thereto, the aglet assembly comprising:
a tubular member having a first end and a second end, a passage defined through the tubular member so as to be adapted to receive the restriction tube therein, the first end of the tubular member being pressed to form a narrow section which is adapted to tightly mount the tubular member onto the restriction tube.
2. The assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the narrow section includes multiple outer surfaces.
3. The assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the second end of the tubular member includes a threaded section which includes outer threads defined in an outer periphery of the second end of the tubular member, an end cap is threadedly connected to the outer threads of the threaded section.

The assembly as claimed in claim 3, wherein an annular shoulder is defined in a conjunction portion between a root portion of the threaded section and an outer periphery of the tubular member, a ring is mounted to the threaded section and rested on the annular shoulder, the end cap includes a first end with inner threads and an annular recess is defined in an inner periphery of the first end of the end cap, the inner threads in the first end of the end cap are threadedly engaged with the threaded section and the ring is received in the annular recess in the end cap.
5. The assembly as claimed in claim 4, wherein the second end of the end cap is a closed end.
