Abstract

A package assembly includes a base plate having multiple first connecting blocks each having a first wall and two first inserts respectively formed on two opposed sides of the first connecting block and two U-shaped connecting blocks oppositely formed on two opposed sides of the base plate, a top plate foldably connected to a side of the base plate and having multiple second connecting blocks, a cutout and a channel to accommodate the second connecting blocks when the top plate is folded relative to the base plate and two shoulder plates respectively and foldably formed on two opposed sides of the base plate to sandwiched the side having the top plate.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a package assembly, and more particularly to a package assembly having a base plate, two shoulder plates respectively connected to two opposed sides of the base plate and a top plate connected to a side of the base plate so as to be sandwiched by the two shoulder plates such that after the two shoulder plates and the top plate are folded relative to the base plate, the combination of the base plate, the shoulder plates and the top plate is adapted to enclose therein an object.
  • 2. Description of Related Art
  • After the final production process, when a product is eventually produced, the product has to be packaged so that the product can be properly shipped to agents or distributors for sale. Normally, there are two different options for the package material, i.e. the stuffed particles and the corrugated board. Both package materials are aimed to provide a dustproof function as well as a shockproof function. Especially the shockproof function provided by the package material is able to protect the product from damage of any kind so that the product is able to maintain its integrity. Some delicate equipment for such as information technology requires special attention so that the choice for the package material has to be extra cautious.
  • It is noted that the stuffed particles are widely used in packaging different products for its durability. However, because the stuffed particle lacks the concern of environment, short of elasticity and occupies large space, a large portion of the packaging agents chooses to use the corrugated board for its resilience to provide great shockproof function. However, because the rigidity and stiffness of the corrugated board is far less than that of the stuffed particle, a lot of packaging agents choose to use a portion of the stuffed particles and a portion of the corrugated board to mix the advantages of the two materials. Although the advantages of both the stuffed particles and the corrugated board are included when the packaging agents employ the mixture of the two to package a product, cost for packaging increases.
  • To overcome the aforementioned disadvantages, the present invention aims to provide an improved package assembly to obviate the aforementioned problems.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary objective of the present invention is to provide an improved package assembly for properly enclosing therein an object.
  • From one aspect o the present invention, the package assembly of the present invention includes a base plate, two shoulder plates respectively connected to two opposed sides of the base plate and a top plate connected to a side of the base plate so as to be sandwiched by the two shoulder plates such that after the two shoulder plates and the top plate are folded relative to the base plate, the combination of the base plate, the shoulder plates and the top plate is adapted to enclose therein an object.
  • Other objects, advantages, and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which:

  • FIG. 3 is a schematic perspective view showing that the top plate is folded relative to the base plate;
  • FIG. 4 is an enlarged perspective view showing the structure of the shoulder plate and of the corresponding structure of the base plate;
  • FIG. 5 is a schematic perspective view showing that one shoulder plate is folded relative to the base plate; and
  • FIG. 6 a perspective view showing the entire package assembly after completely folded.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • With reference to FIG. 1, it is noted that the integrally formed package assembly in accordance with the present invention is preferably made of heat deformable plastic includes a base plate 10, two shoulder plates 30 respectively connected to opposed sides of the base plate 10 and a top plate 20 connected to a side of the base plate 10 so as to be sandwiched between the two shoulder plates 30.
  • Also referring to FIG. 2, the base plate 10 has multiple first connecting blocks 11 spatially formed on top of the base plate 10 and each first connecting block 11 having a first wall 12 formed on a peripheral edge thereof and two first inserts 13 respectively formed on two opposed sides 121 of the first wall 12.
  • The top plate 20 is connected to the base plate 10 via a first seam A and includes multiple second connecting blocks 21 formed on top of the top plate 20 and each second connecting block 21 having two first slits 22 respectively defined in two opposed sides 211 of the second connecting block 21 to correspond to the first inserts 13 of the base plate 10 and a second cutout 23 defined between two adjacent second connecting blocks 21 to correspond to the first wall 12 of the base plate 10. Furthermore, a channel 14 is defined between the first connecting blocks 11 and the second connecting blocks 21.
  • Also referring to FIG. 3, when the top plate 20 is to be folded relative to the base plate 10 along the first seam A, each second connecting block 21 is received in the channel 14 and each of the first walls 12 is received in the second cutout 23. In the meantime, the first inserts 13 are respectively inserted into two corresponding first slits 22 of two adjacent second connecting blocks 21 to increase the combination between the first connecting blocks 11 and the second connecting blocks 21.
  • In order to increase the integrity of the entire structure, a first rib 101 is formed between two adjacent first connecting blocks 11 and a reinforcing rib 102 is formed between two adjacent first ribs 101 so that a recess 103 is defined between two adjacent first ribs 101 and the reinforcing rib 102 sandwiched between the two adjacent first ribs 101. In addition, a boss 1011 is formed on a distal end of each of the first ribs 101 to adapt to variations of the object to be packaged inside the package assembly of the present invention.
  • With reference to FIG. 4, the shoulder plates 30 are connected to two opposed sides of the base plate 10 via a second seam B to sandwich the side having the top plate 20. Each shoulder plate 30 is provided with multiple third connecting blocks 31 (only one shown) each having a second wall 32 formed on a peripheral edge of the third connecting block 31 and having two second inserts 33 formed on two opposed sides of the second wall 32. A U-shaped second channel 34 is defined between the third connecting block 31 and the base plate 10. Multiple U-shaped connecting blocks 15 (two are shown) are formed on top of the base plate 10 to correspond to the U-shaped second channels 34 and each U-shaped connecting block 15 has two second slits 16 defined in two opposed inner sides of the U-shaped connecting block 15 to correspond to and receive therein the two second inserts 33 of the corresponding second connecting block 31.
  • With reference to FIGS. 4 and 5, when the shoulder plate 30 is folded relative to the base plate 10 along the second seam B, the U-shaped connecting block 15 is inserted into the U-shaped second channel 34 thereby allowing the two second inserts 33 to be received in the two second slits 16 as well as the second wall 32 to be received in the U-shaped connecting block 15.
  • In order to secure engagement between the base plate 10 and both of the shoulder plates 30, each of the U-shaped connecting blocks 15 is provided with two protruded wedges 151 and two wedged recess 35 are defined in a bottom face defining the second channel 34 such that after the shoulder plate 30 is folded relative to the base plate 10, the two wedges 151 are received in the corresponding wedged recesses 35.
  • With reference to FIG. 6, it is noted that the length of the base plate 10, the top plate 20 or each of the shoulder plates 30 is changeable according to the dimension of the object to be packaged so as to provide appropriate protection to the object enclosed inside the package assembly of the present invention. Furthermore, due to the provision of the recesses 103 and the first connecting blocks 11, the second connecting blocks 21 and the third connecting blocks 31, both stiffness and resilience of the package assembly are satisfactory to provide shockproof and damage-proof to the object therein.
  • Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.

Claims (5)

1. A package assembly comprising:
a base plate having multiple first connecting blocks formed on top of the base plate and each first connecting block having a first wall formed on a peripheral edge thereof and two first inserts respectively formed on two opposed sides of the first connecting block and two U-shaped connecting blocks oppositely formed on two opposed sides of the base plate;
a top plate foldably connected to a side of the base plate and having multiple second connecting blocks formed on top of the top plate, each second connecting block having two first slits respectively defined in two opposed sides of the second connecting block to correspond to and receive therein the two first inserts of the base plate and a cutout defined between two adjacent second connecting blocks to correspond to the first wall of the base plate and a channel defined between the first connecting blocks and the second connecting blocks to accommodate the second connecting blocks when the top plate is folded relative to the base plate; and
two shoulder plates respectively and foldably formed on two opposed sides of the base plate to sandwiched the side having the top plate, each shoulder plate provided with multiple third connecting blocks each having a second wall formed on a peripheral edge of the third connecting block and having two second inserts formed on two opposed sides of the second wall, a second channel defined between the third connecting block and the base plate and multiple U-shaped connecting blocks formed on top of the base plate to correspond to and to be received in the second channels and each U-shaped connecting block having two second slits defined in two opposed inner sides of the U-shaped connecting block to correspond to and receive therein the two second inserts of a corresponding second connecting block.
2. The package assembly as claimed in claim 1, which is made of a heat deformable plastic material.
3. The package assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein each of the U-shaped connecting blocks is provided with two protruded wedges and two wedged recess are defined in a bottom face defining the second channel such that after the shoulder plate is folded relative to the base plate, the two wedges are received in a corresponding wedged recesses.

The package assembly as claimed in claim 3, wherein a first rib is formed between two adjacent first connecting blocks and a reinforcing rib is formed between two adjacent first ribs so that a recess is defined between two adjacent first ribs and the reinforcing rib sandwiched between the two adjacent first ribs so as to increase structural integrity thereof.
5. The package assembly as claimed in claim 4, wherein a boss is formed on a distal end of each of the first ribs to adapt to variations of an object to be packaged.
