  • The present invention will be more fully understood in the light of the following description of several specific examples.[0010]
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 shows the apparatus for spinning core yarn in accordance with the present invention.[0011]
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • To prevent breaking copper wire of weak strength, synthetic filament yarn and copper yarn is twisted together and this twisted yarn-wire is used as core. Roving is prepared with conventional process of cotton spinning system or worsted system, using natural fiber, synthetic fiber or its blend. The twisted core and roving are supplied to the apparatus on the ring spinning machine to spin core yarn. Draft of suitable ratio is applied to the core to make it to be covered with the fiber from the roving. The adjustment of the ratio of draft is crucially important to get thorough covering of core with fiber. [0012]
  • After then, winding, weaving or knitting are the same as conventional method. To get required color, only covering fiber is dyed, the core of copper and synthetic filament being remained as it is. This fabric has test results of good electro-magnetic wave shielding, antibiotic and anti-static property. [0013]
  • Material of any fiber, either natural, synthetic or blended, is fed the conventional cotton spinning system or worsted spinning system and roving is made with prior art. Gold, silver, platinum, stainless, iron and carbon can be used as conductive material. Among them, copper has good properties with handy availability, being less expensive. [0014]
  • It is difficult for copper only to be applied with required tension without assist of filament yarn. Polyester filament yarn and very thin copper wire are twisted together with conventional method. Other synthetic filament yarn also can be twisted with copper wire which is coated with enamel film and is better for its strength and anti-oxidizing property. Multi-filament or mono-filament can be used and multi-filament is good for better handling, mono-filament is good for perfect covering. The suitable twist per meter must be found out. If it is too little, copper wire is cut when tension is applied. If it is too much, snarls happen and these reduce cover ratio. Apparatus for spinning core yarn is adapted to cotton ring spinning machine or worsted ring spinning machine. The apparatus contains core supplying device which can add tension of various degree to the core freely. Various tensions can be acquired by changing the ratio of surface velocity between pairs of tension rollers and that of front rollers. If the tension is too weak, the core is not covered completely. And if the tension is too strong, the core filaments are cut. The suitable degree of tension should be found out by trials and errors. [0015]
  • FIG. 1 according to the present invention shows detail of the apparatus for spinning core yarn. In this figure, roving([0016] 1) is fed to pairs of back rollers(4)(7) and drafted during being passed through pairs of middle and front rollers(5)(8),(6)(9). Twisted copper and filament(12) is supplied to pair of tensioning rollers(14) (15) and tension is added to the twisted core. This core is guided to the pair of front rollers, being duplicated precisely on the roving. Core spun yarn is twisted between the pair of front rollers(6)(9) and bobbin(19) and wound on a bobbin(19).
  • The prepared roving is fed to the pair of back rollers([0017] 4)(7), drafted by the pairs of middle and front rollers(5) (8) (6) (9). The core of copper and filament is supplied to the tension device(14) (15) and it is going to the front rollers(6)(9) with suitable tension. And the core filament is guided to be placed on the center of drafted roving at the nip point of the pair of front rollers. By careful adjustment of the tension, the thorough covering of core filament with fiber can be acquired. The core yarn consisting of core filament and covered fiber is twisted between the pair of front rollers(6)(9) and bobbin(19).
  • The twist per meter is the same as that of conventional method. This core yarn itself has already powerful properties of electro-magnetic wave shielding, anti-biotic and anti-static. It is not economical to use 100% of this yarn for woven fabric or knitted fabric. The core yarn is inserted in both way of weft and warp once every 5 or 7 regular threads to make woven fabric which ensure sufficient shielding effect. Adjusting array of yarn feeding, the core yarn is knitted with regular yarn to make knitted fabrics and sweaters which conduct as good shielding materials. Yarn dying or fabric dyeing can be applied conveniently according to usage of the core yarn. Any way, dyeing the cover-fiber only is sufficient to get perfect solid color and good feeling. But if covering is not enough, the core filament should be dyed, and in this case, enamel of copper wire can not be dyed sometimes. So, perfective dying of the covering is imperative in this art. [0018]
  • To increase the degree of shielding effect, the ratio of core yarn against regular yarn is increased at design of fabric. Copper wire makes the fabric to have anti-biotic and anti-static property. The devices of this art can be adapted to either cotton ring spinning machine or worsted ring spinning machine. [0019]
  • EXAMPLE 1
  • 50% of Blended fiber of polyester (2 denier×75-110 mm bias cut) and 50% of wool (21.5 micron×65 mm) was fed to worsted spinning system and roving was made with prior art. These threads of twisted copper-filament were supplied to the front pairs of rollers adding tension by means of drafting the threads between pairs of core feeding rollers and front rollers. The drafting ratio was adjusted as 1.08. The core spun yarns were twisted with twists of 680 per meter and yarn number of 38 in metric count. Blended yarn of 50% of polyester and 50% of wool were prepared with conventional method whose number of yarn was 48 in metric count. The core spun yarn and this regular blended yarn were twisted together with twists of 540 per meter. The regular blended yarn was also doubled and twisted with conventional method with the same twists. [0020]
  • That twisted core yarn was inserted in both way of weft and warp once every 5 threads of this regular wool blended yarn. Polyester and wool were dyed and perfect solid shade of navy color was acquired. The handle of the finished fabric was the same as that of regular polyester-wool blended fabric. Effect of electromagnetic wave shielding was 77.6% in average. Anti-biotic degree against Staphylococcus aureus was 99.9%. Static charge after specific abrasion was 640 volts. [0021]
  • EXAMPLE 2

Prepared roving was supplied to the same front rollers through back and middle rollers. The core spun yarns were twisted with twists of 18 twists per inch and the yarn number was 16 in English cotton count. These core spun yarns were knitted with regular cotton yarn of 20 E.C.C. and were arrayed once every 7 regular cotton yarns. The knitted fabric was dyed cotton side only. [0022]
  • Perfect solid color was acquired. The feeling of the fabric was as good as that of conventional cotton fabric. Effect of electromagnetic wave shielding was 71.5%. Antibiotic degree was 99.5%. Voltage of anti-static charge was 654 volts. [0023]
