Description
- (a) Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a pogo stick structure, more particularly, a pogo stick structure consists of a tube risen from the position between foot pads, which increases the stability during the movements of a compression spring and greatly reduces the height of the foot pads to the ground, thereby increases the safety of operation.
- (b) Description of the Prior Art
- Sport is the only way to keep health. No matter outdoor or indoor activities, people in all ages can improve their constitutions and become healthy through proper exercises. However, modem people have busier lives, therefore, within the limited recreation and time available, whoever intends to persevere in exercises, regardless the weather and locations, would choose indoor or portable sports equipments in the first place. This leads to the prosperity of gymnasiums and the rise of the portable sports equipments such as folding scooters, in-line skates and pogo sticks, which is great news to those who want to exercise.
- The said portable sticks were invented years ago. Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a traditional pogo stick is mainly structured by wedging
handlebars 11 to a foot-pad housing 10 which includes a pair offoot pads 12 secured on both sides of the bottom. - The pivot of the said foot-
pad housing 10 comprises asupport rod 20 with aexternal compression spring 21 which retains the foot-pad housing 10 from the middle bottom position. At the bottom of thesupport rod 20 screws fastened arubber support tip 22. - The
handlebars 11 of the pogo stick are for hand holding, and thefoot pads 12 secured on the foot-pad housing 10 are for standing on. While a user steps on thefoot pads 12, forcing thecompression spring 21 under the foot-pad housing 10 to become constrained; then the user lifts thehandlebars 11 and bends legs enabling thecompression spring 21 to move upward and become released of the constraint. By the up-and-down resilient constraint of thecompression spring 21, the user can stand on the pogo stick and do jumping exercises. - Although the traditional pogo stick can help user reach the objective of exercises, the
compression spring 21 of the pogo stick directly retains the foot-pad housing 10 from under and therubber support tip 22 from above. Therefore, when the user steps on thefoot pads 12 and does jumping exercises, under the condition of successive constraint and relief, and the different forces applied from different feet, thecompression spring 21 is easily to shake left and right, leading to the imbalance of the pogo stick. Moreover, the pogo stick structure wherein the top of thecompression spring 21 withstands under the foot-pad housing 10 and the end withstands above therubber support tip 22 creating greater height (H) from thefoot pads 12 to the ground, which not only easily causes greater fear in the user while standing on thefoot pads 12, but also causes greater shakiness in the pogo stick during operation. - For this reason, according to the inventor's experiences and knowledge in researching, manufacturing and trading in the product, the present invention of the pogo stick structure, without the faults of the traditional pogo sticks, is finally developed after continuously studying and improving.
- More specifically, the present invention of pogo stick structure mainly comprises a foot-pad housing with handlebars thereof and a support rod; wherein foot pads are disposed on both sides of a housing bottom, and the support rod locates in the footrest housing with a compression spring thereof under the foot pads, and the bottom of the support rod is fixed with a rubber support tip. The features of the present invention are: the foot-pad housing rises at the position of the foot pads and forms a tube creating space for placing the compression spring.
- The primary objective of the present invention is to enhance the stability of the compression spring while being constrained and released by the installation of the said tube, which can also lower the height of the foot pads to the ground in a great amount, and thus reduce the user's fear in operating the pogo stick.
- Another objective of the present invention is to increase the pleasure in operating the pogo stick. Outside the foot pads mounts a plurality of LED flash lights, and under the foot pads installs a controller which switches on/off the LED flash lights and creates sound. When the pogo stick bounces, the controller makes sound and switched on the LED flash lights outside the foot pads, whereby the pleasure in operating the pogo stick is increased.
- For this reason, to enable a further understanding of the foregoing objectives as well as other objectives and structure details of the invention herein, the detailed description of the invention herein along with the brief description of the drawings below shall provide additional elaboration.
- FIG. 1 is an isometric drawing of the traditional pogo stick structure
- FIG. 2 is perspective drawing of the lower portion of the traditional pogo stick structure
- FIG. 3 is an isometric drawing of the present invention
- FIG. 4 is perspective drawing of the lower portion of the present invention
- Referring to FIG. 3 and4, the present invention of the pogo stick, like traditional pogo stick, comprises a foot-
pad housing 30 withhandlebars 31 thereof and asupport rod 40; wherein a pair offoot pads 32 mounts separately on each side of the foot-pad housing 30. Thesupport rod 40 is installed within the foot-pad housing 30 wherein acompression spring 41 slips under thefoot pads 32, and arubber support tip 42 fixes to the bottom end, which form a pogo stick structure. - The feature of the present invention is: outside the said
foot pads 32 mounts a plurality ofLED flash lights 33, and under the saidfoot pads 32 installs acontroller 34 to control the glistens of theLED flash lights 33 and create sounds. When the pogo stick bounces, thecontroller 34 creates sound and switch on theLED flash lights 33 outside the foot pads, whereby the pleasure in operating the pogo stick is increased. - Moreover, the foot-
pad housing 30 rises up at the position of thefoot pads 32 and forms atube 35 creating aroom 36 for the insertion of thecompression spring 41, whereby the top end of thecompression spring 30 places within thesaid room 36 in thetube 35 and the bottom end retains therubber support tip 42 on thesupport rod 40. - The said invention of the pogo stick structure enables the
compression spring 41 to proceed constrained and released movements stably within theroom 36 of thetube 35; moreover, since the top end of the saidcompression spring 41 is placed in theroom 36 of thetube 35, based on the premise that the length of the saidcompression spring 30 of the present invention is the same as the traditional pogo stick, the installation of thetube 35 reduces the height (h) of thefoot pads 32 to the ground in a great amount, thus the user will not be afraid of height when stepping on thefoot pads 32 and operating the pogo stick. - In summation of the forgoing section, the present invention of pogo stick not only can increase the pleasure in operating from the sound creating and the glistens of LED flash lights outside the foot pads by the controller, but also increases the stability in jumping movements by the tube risen from the middle of the two foot pads, which lowers the height of the foot pads enormously, and thus increases the safety in operating the pogo stick.
- The present invention has matched the patent criteria of utility, modernity and advance in the industry. Therefore, the inventor submits this patent application according to the law. It would be appreciated if the examiners can examine the application in detail and authorize the patent promptly.
- The names of the said components and drawings are set for the convenience in describing the structure of the present invention, and not to limit the right scope of it. Therefore, whatever similar changes and modifications without departing from the spirit and forms of appended claims are covered by the patent of the present invention.
