PATENT OFFICE My invention relates to improvementsin salt water showers.

One object of my invention is to provide a shower having a receptacle interposed in the pipe line thereof and adapted to' hold bath salt and soarranged that the salt is held in suspension within the receptacle during the spraying operation.

Another object of my invention is to provide a shower of this character in which the connection for the pipe carrying the shower proper forms the opening through which the salt is placed in the container.

A further object of my invention is to provide a shower of this character in which salt is prevented from passing into the water supply when the water pressure to the salt container is shut off and at the same time providing a simple, cheap and effective shower having certain details of structure and combination of parts herein-- after more fully set forth.

Referring now to the drawing:-

1 represents a cylindrical vertically disposed receptacle which is preferably made of aluminium or some non-rusting material and which is provided atits upperend with an ear 2 having an opening-3 whereby the receptacle can be suspended from a hook or other means. The lower end of the receptacle'is provided with an enlarged opening 4 covered by screen 5 and covering said screen and rigidly connected to the lower end of the receptacle is a connection 6 to which the rubber hose 7 is connected. This rubber hose '7 is of any desired length and provided at its free end with a rubber connection 8 adapted to slip over the spigot in the bath tub and whereby the receptacle is supplied with water, all of which is well understood and needs no further description.

The upper end 9 of the receptacle is provided with an enlarged screw threaded opening 10 into which is screwed a cap 11 whereby the receptacle is closed at its upper end. The cap 11 has connected thereto at 12 a rubber hose 13 which may be of any desired length and has connected at its free end, a shower 14 which may be of any desired structure.

In operation, the cap 11 is removed and the salt poured into the. receptacle 1 through the threaded opening 10. The cap is then screwed into the opening to tightly seal the upper end of the receptacle. The receptacle is then hung or suspended in the desired place and the shower is ready for operation. Upon opening of the spigot, the water passes through the rubber connection 8 through the hose 7 and through the screen 5 into the receptacle 1. The pressure of the water forces the salt upwardly in the receptacle and holds thesalt in suspension. A certain amount ofthe salt is dissolved by the water and the salt water passes outwardly through the cap 11 into the hose 13 and out through the shower 14.

While I have shown and described the shower as portable, it will be understood that the same could be made a permanent fixture in the pipe line in the ordinary shower and the broad invention is in interposing a salt container in the water line of a shower and so arranged that the salt will be held in suspension by the water during the passage of the water therethrough.

It will be understood that when the water supply is cut oif from the pipe 7 the salt will settle in the lower end of the receptacle 1 and the screen 5 will prevent the passage of salt from the receptacle into the pipe 7. It is also understood that the pressureof water will notbe suflicient to raise and force the salt out of the receptacle through the opening 10, but the salt will be held in suspension in the water in the container.

, Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim is:

. 1. A salt water shower comprising an elongated vertically disposed receptacle, an ear carried by the upper end for supporting the receptacle, a flexible hose connection to the lower end of the receptacle, a screencovering the connection with the hose to prevent the passage of salt from the receptacle through the hose, the upper end of the receptacle having an enlarged filling opening and a flexible tube having a cap.connected at one end and. screwed to the filling opening and having a spray nozzle carried by the opposite end.

2. A salt water shower comprising an elongated vertically disposed. receptacle, means for holding said receptaclein a substantially vertical position a flexible hose connection to the lower end of the receptacle, a screen covering the connection with'the hose to prevent the passage of salt from the receptacle through the hose, the upper end of the receptacle having an enlarged filling opening and a flexible tube having a cap connected at one end and to the filling, opening and having a spray nozzle carried by the oppo-
