The channeled strip at the bottom rear longitudinal edgehas joined therewith pintles 20, these being engaged in the ears 13 so that the body will be swingingly connected with the base 1G.
The base 10 has countersunk therein a contact plate 21, while the' covering 15 medially of its .length has tted thereto transversely of the same inside and outside bands 22 and 23 respectively, the outside band being carried beneath the channeled strip at the rear bottom edge of the body and upwardly to overlie the inside band 22 and this portion 24 of said outside band 23`is made with a rounded bend- 25 to coact with the contact plate r21 so as to assure afulcrum intermediate of the bodyA of the case and for free swinging vmovement of `said body on the raising and-lowering thereof onto and from the base 10. i
Each yend piece 14 has xed thereto a brac or bracket 26, the same being made fast to an intermediate, longitudinally disposed inner band or strip 27 upon the body and against the cov-A ering 15 so as to Aassure strength to the body.
The bodyat its front` has thereon a hand i knob' 28, the latter being preferably iixed to the front channeled strip at the point of the cross- Y* neled strips 18 flat strips 29 are substituted,
these being suitably secured in overlapping relation to each transverse band 30 and arranged at the end pieces 31 of the body to overlap a short distance the bottom edge of each end piece 31 and also the end of the strip 29 isa Vfelt pad 32, this functioning to'prevent 'slipping of the body which is independent and separate from a base as in this modified form the `base hereinbefore described' is dispensed with, the body constituting the showcase in the modied form vbeing superimposed upon a counter or other like stand.
