This invention relates to automatic pistols and has for its object the production of a simple and vefficient attachment which 1s adapted to be secured to the rear portion or 5 rear face of an automatic pistol handle, so as to slightly elevate the gun barrel while handling the pistol or gripping the same by the hand.

Another object of this invention is the production of a simple and eicient attachment which will conveniently fit upon the rear face near the lower end of the handle of an automatic pistol, so as to cause the barrel to be slightly elevated when gripped by the hand of an operator, thereby greatly facilitating the accurate firing of the gun.

It has been found by actual experience in handling automatic pistols and the like that when firing the pistol at random or taking aim quickly, the shot fires low due to the fact that in suddenly gripping the pistol for the purpose of taking quick aim, the barrel invariably is lowered. By attaching the wedge shaped attachment to the rear of the handle,

the operator will tend to raise the point of the barrel due to this enlargement which may be attached to the rear portion of the handle of the barrel, such as an automatic pistol and the like, of the standard type now placed upon the market.

With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in certain novel constructions, arrangement, and combination of parts, which will be fully described.

Tap screws 6 are countersunk within the enlarged wedge 2 and pass therethrough and fit in the threaded socket 7 formed in the handle of the gun for eliiciently attaching the wedge to the handle of the gun.

It should be understood that certain detail changes in mechanical construction may be employed without departing from the spirit of the invention, so long as these changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.

By means of the present device it has been found by actual experience that the accuracy of firing a gun, particularly of the pistol type will be greatly increased, particularly when the gun is ired at random or aim is taken quickly. Through the medium of this wedge shaped structure which may be attached to a gun of the standard type, the common fault of dropping the muzzle of the gun too low to obtain an accurate shot may be readily remedied simply by the addition of the wedge shaped enlargement indicated by the numeral 2 and above described. l

Having described the invention, what I claim as new is:

As a new article of manufacture, an elongated tapering w-edge adapted to be secured to the rear face of the handle of an automatic pistol, said elongated tapering wedge provided with a curved inwardly dished lower end adapted to it around and snugly engage the lower rear corner of a piston handle facilitating the holding of the wedge in position upon the handle of a pistol and leaving the lower end of the handle free for the insertion of cartridges.
