Description

:Il ..-GII
xNvEN-ron ATToRNE Aug. 11, 1931. G. PoLAK INSULATOR Filed March 2o, 195o Patented Aug. 11,` 1931 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE A GABRIEL POLAK, OF FOREST CITY, PENNSYLVANIA; HELEN IPOLAK ADMINISTRATRIX OF SAID GABRIEL POLAK, DECEASED INSULATOR Application filed March 20, 1930. Serial No. 437,550.
My present invention has reference to a new and novel improvement in insulator attachments adapted to be employed for suspending telephone, telegraph or other elec- 5 tric wires, and my object is the provision of a means for this purpose whereby the wires may be easily and quickly clamped and insulated from a support or as readily detached therefrom should occasion require.
For a full and comprehensive understanding of the improvement reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings which form part of this application.
In the drawings:
Figure l is a face view of the improvement.
Figure 2 is a side elevation thereof with parts broken away and parts in section.
In the drawings the numeral 1 designates a post or like support. One or both of the 2 faces of the post is provided with spaced rectangular depressions that afford pockets 2 for blocks 3 of insulating material. The blocks 3 project through the pockets and have their outer ends centrally formed with transverse round grooves Ll.
Hingedly secured below each block 3 to the post or like support l, as indicated by the numeral 5, there are the lower ends of outer insulator blocks 6. These blocks have their 0 inner faces provided with transverse grooves 7 to register with the grooves 4 in the blocks 3. The blocks 6 are of a materially greater length and also are of a greater width than the blocks 3 and the free or outer ends of the blocks 6 are bifureated, as at 8. Pivotally secured, as at 9, in suitable openings in the member l there are the eye ends of bolts. These bolts are swingable through the bifurcated ends of the blocks 6 and are engaged by wing nuts ll which hold the blocks 6 against the blocks 3. The conductor wires l2 are received in the grooves of the blocks 3 and 6 and are effectively sustained supported thereby on the member l. By simply of the construction and the advantages thereof will, it is thought, be apparent without further detailed description.
Having described the invention, I claim:
In a device for the purpose set forth, a support having pockets therein, a block of insulating material in each pocket, projecting therefrom and having its outer face grooved transversely for a conductor wire, an outer block of insulating material of a greater width and length than the first mentioned block hingedly secured to the support and having its inner face grooved to receive the conductor wire therein, said last mentioned block having its free end bifurcated, and a swingable bolt on the support movable into the bifurcated end of the block and engaged by a wing nut.
In testimony whereof I a'l'HX my signature.
GABnmL PoLAK.
