' Refer ing in detail to I the drawing the numeral indicates an elongated anchor plate formed of some suitable material not susceptible to be corroded by the perspiration of the body. The obverse face of this anchor plate has its marginal edge chainfered. servesas a saddle for receiving the free end;
ofa hinged closure hook 16. The plate 12" has an elongated.S1061? formed therein for after described. i v v t.
Ajbelt carrier frame is suspended from the plate 12. p This "belt" carrier frame com prises Ya relatively small apron also proa purposewhich will beinore fully herein vided withav-longitudinal slot '19. Said apronis; provided with ;a'' downwardly eX- c apart rectangular openings'2l are formed. A secondmember"comprising a tongue 22' extends downwardly parallel to the ear 2OI and at its lower end is bent upwardly to form @1100}; 23in which the belt SZ'fworn aboutthe': torso, is saddled. The lower end of the earQOis formed into an eyelet or loop 26 in which the connecting member of a triangular 'men ber 'is secured. This member has a pair of diverging arms 24 and "25] whose ends are'turne'd' towards each other, to provide an lnternal bearing for a. glass ,or'similar roller 27.- 'One end 5280f an elastiobandBOis looped about the" lower porslot 17. This hand sectionsuspends down wardly and lies adjacent a guide strip'29 jacent to the latter and then returns after pas'singaround half the periphery of the.
forming .part of theapron 18and lying ad roller continuesupwardly; as indicated by the numeral-31 and then passes through the slot 19 and has its end attached to the ear 20. The end 35 of the elastic band opposite to the looped end28 is. provided with a strip of rigid inaterial which is bent midway of this width to pinch the end of the band be tween the doubled over portion. of: the plate.
This plate 32; has triangular depressions 33 I therein and the material I the area vof the plate 10 is placed in a desirable position on i the inside of the shirt material of the terial.
depressions pierces the fabric of the band and secures this plate member firmly to the end of the band. Intermediate the length of the plate member a hook 3a is formed which is adapted to cooperate with the ear 20 by engaging any of the rectangular openings 21 inan adjustable manner. The plate 12 below the position whereon slot 17 is formed is also divided or split to permit the wearer. The nose 11 deflect-s the shirt material about the nose and the bifurcated plate 12 is then slipped over the constricted port-ion of the nose on the outside of the shirt material.
The device is now: ready the trousers in a comfortable position with out the necessity of tautening the belt for the proper draping of the trousers. The
plate is directly secured'to the elastic band member by having a: looped portion 28 pass.
ing through the slot 17in the plate 12. The belt is supported in the saddle hook 23 and, since the trousers are coupled to the belt,
these entire two units will be suspended in.
a resilient and yieldable'manner by means of the flexible band. To adjust the-tension of the adjustable band, the hook member 34 at one end of the elastic band is movedto.
one or the other of the plurality of rectangular openings 21 as will be obvious from a perusal of the drawings. To eliminatefrio tion as much as'possible, the elasticband where it is doubled rides about a roller 27 made of glass'or some other suitable ma To insure that the trouser carrying membercomprising the'plate 12 the carrier frame and the, elastic band will not become dislodged from the anchor plate, a lock is provided. This lock: is provided with a detent 15 on the finger. 13" of the bifurcated plate 12 which is-coo'perated with by a looped latch element lOhinge'd at oi'ie corner of plat-e 12 and is so positioned as to span and close the open endof the slot '14.
It is'to be noted that certain changes in form-and construction may be made without departing from the spirit andscope of the invention.
I; In 9; belt 213C110! plate, a. li'O'S for suspending on said anchor plate, a bifurcated member engaging said nose, a belt carrying member, an elastic band suspending said belt carrying member from said plate, and means for locking said bifurcated member in engagement with said nose.
2. In a belt carrier, an anchor plate, a nose on said anchor plate, a bifurcated member engaging said nose, a belt carrying member, an elastic band suspending said belt carrying member from said plate, a hinged latching member mounted on said bifurcated member, said bifurcated member having a detent therein, said latch engaging said detent to lock said bifurcated member on said anchor plate and means for adjusting the tension of said elastic band.
3. In a belt carrier, an anchor plate, a nose on said anchor plate, a bifurcated member said nose, a belt carrying member, an elastic band suspending said belt carrying member from said plate, an ear on said belt carrier having spaced apart rectangular open ings therein, a hook member secured to said elastic band, said hook member being adapted to engage in any of the openings of said ear for adjusting the tension of said elastic band.
4. In a belt carrier, an anchor plate, a nose on said anchor plate, a bifurcated member engaging said nose, a belt carrying member, an elastic band suspending said belt carrying member from said plate, an ear on said belt carrier having spaced apart rectangular openings'therein, a hook member secured to said elastic band, said hook member being adapted to engage in any of the openings of said ear for adjusting the tension of said elastic band, and means for releasably attaching said elastic band to said bifurcated member.
' 5. In a belt carrier, an anchor plate, a nose on said anchor plate,a bifurcated member engaging said nose, a belt carrying member, an elastic band suspending said belt carrying member from said plate, an ear on said belt carrier having spaced apart rectangular openings therein, a hook member secured to said elastic band, said hook member being adapted to engage in any, of the openings of said ear for adjusting the tension of said elastic band, said bifurcated member having a divided slot therein,- a closed loop on said band, said" band being adapted to be releasably slipped into said slot thru the division thereof.
In testimony whereof Ia'flix my signature.
