' GAME DEVICE Application med-June s, 1929. seri l No. 358,494; w T
The main object of this invention is to provide a gaming device'in'which dice are used. The device encloses the dice so that p H ports a plurality of dice 26.,
counterfeit dicemay'not befsubstituted.
Another object of this invention is to provide a device which shakes andshuffles dice upon presin an enclosed visible container sureof abutton-forming part of the device.
The above and other apparent in the description below, in which characters of reference refer to like-named parts in the drawin Referring briefly to the drawing, Figure 1 is a partially sectionedfront elevational view of the gaming device, showingthe dice supported on the flexing diaphragm which latter is shown in normal and flexed position.
Figure 2 is'a top plan view of Figure 1,
' showing a portion of the crown broken away.
Referring in detail to the drawing, the
' numeral 10 indicates an inverted ornamental- I 1y formed housing whlchencloses a chamber 11 havingthe mechanism therein. The bottom of the housing 10 is completely capped by a disc 12 which has a bounding recess13 formed thereon. This recess 13 receives the beaded lip 14: of the housing 10,'which is provided for the purpose of sealing the device. W'ithin thechamber 11 a pedestal 15 is mounted on the disc 12 in some desirable manner. The pedestal 15 hasa channel there in which receives a lever 16. Said lever 16 is provided with a pair of opposing pins 17. which cradle in slotsl8 formed'in the upper end of the pedestal 15. One end of the lever 16has pivotally connected thereto a bar 19 which passes through an opening in the housing 10 in which is mounted a collar 20. The upper end of the bar above the housing 10 and is surmounted by a button 21.
The opposite end of the lever 16 has a link 22 pivotally connected thereto; Said link 22 extends Vertically upward and is rigidly attached to a slightly dished-out flexing diaphragm 23. The edge of this, diaphragm 23 is securely mounted upon a transparent glass crown 24c which=encompasses the dice chamber 25. Said diaphragm23 is-adapted to be the dice plished by pressure objects will become: 7
said button 21 is 19 projects tov a position flexed from" the 'in broken lines in the same figure, and sup- The'device is adapted to shuflieand shake .26 so that various facets of these dice '26 topple andshowvarious and different values. Shaking of these, dice 26 is accomupon the button 21." As depressed, the bar '19 is lowered. With the same attached, is raised.
angle of deflection is reached, which is mid normal position shown in full lines in Figure 1 to the position shown movement the one. end of the lever 16, to which thelink 22 is This flexes the diaphragm 23 upwardly and, when thecritical way between the normal and flexed 'posi-f tion shown in full and broken lines in F igure 1, the diaphragm 23 flexes instantaneously from the intermediate position to the position shown in brokenlines in Figure 1 and through this instantaneous shifting of the v diaphragm 23, the dice 26 are given a violent lifting, thus toppling and turning these dice 26 and reversing their facets.
The game is used in cenventional or special manner, accordingly as desired.
It is tobe noted that certain changes in form and construction may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
I cla1m:
1. In a gaming device, a housing, a trans parent crown mounted on said housing, a normally dished-out diaphragm having its edge mounted rigidly in said housing, a link rigid with said diaphragm at the axis of the latter, dice supported on said diaphragm, and means for raising said link to flex said diaphragm.
Y 2. In a gaming device, a housing, a trans- 7 parent crown mounted on said housing, a nor-v mally dished-out diaphragm having its edge mounted rigidly in said housing, a link rigid with said diaphragm, at the axis of the latter, dice supported on said diaphragm, a bar pro- Jecting from said housing, a button surmounting said bar exterior of said housing, and
