UNITED STATES JOSEPH JACOBS, OF WEV YORK, N. Y.
' IOY NURSING BOTTLE.
Application fired February 15, les?. sei-iai No. 168,307.
This invention relates to an imitation feed` ing bottle or dolls7 and is especially adapted for a toy.
The principal object of the invention is to provide a device ol this nature With mechanical means therein Whose func-tion is to simulate the genuine article. l
Another object ot theinvention is to provide a device ot this lcharacter so arranged 10 that When the bottleisinverted itscontents will slovlly tloiv into the nipple gi Ying the illusion thatI the bottle is being empti 1 Other objects Will appear as the disclosure progresses. The drawings are intended merely to indicate a possible embodiment oi' the invention.
needs ot manufacture may necessitate certain mechanical changes. It is therefore not intended to limit the invention to the embodi- Vment illustrated but rather to eeifine such limits in the appended claims.
For a more general understanding ot the invent-ion attention is now called to the draivings in which a preferred embodiment is shown illustrated.
Figure l is a View of the bottle partly fin section.
Fig. 2 is a similar view as Fig. l but with the bottle in aninverted position.
Fie'. 3 isa section'o'n line 3 3 ot Fig. l.A
Referring to the drawings in detail in which like reference characters denote like parts throughout the specification, numeral l designates the transparent Lglass bottle composed ot double Walls 2 and Sina-vingI a space l between them. y bottle is the nipple 5 made from an opaque material.
Covering;` the top opening ot the bottle is 40 a circular disk G containing a series ot small perfo-rations 7 and above the disk are prongs 8 integral with nipple Whose function ris to provide a rest for the circular disk 6 when the bottle is inverted as shown in Fig. 2.
The operation otthisdevice is as follows:
A liquid resembling milk is poured into the space l formed by the-' Walls 2 and 3, the disk 6 placed on the top opening of the bottle and the nipple 5 inserted over the bottle neck.v
When the bottle is inverted as in the act of feeding the contents Will iovv into the It is obvious that the actual.
Attached to the neck ot' the opaque nipple and give the illusionythat its contents are being consumed by the doll. The capacity ot the nipple is equal to the capacity of the space 4 so When the bottle is inverted the entire contents can be deposited in the nipple.` y
rllhe function el the prongs 8v is to limit the opening` movementoirl the disk 6 When the bot-tleis inverted so as to allo-W lthe liquid iu an imitation ot milk to steadily pour into the nipple. VVhr-n the bottle isv returned to its upright position the liquid from the nipple will gradually trickle through the holes 7 back again toits original position very slowly and almost imperceptibly toy theeye. o Havingthus described my invention, i Yhat desire to secureA by United States Let-ters Patent is: Y
l. In a device ot the class described, a bottle formed oi transparent material hav.w
ing double Walls forming a chamber, av liquid vin Said chamber. `a nipple attached to the neck ot saidbottle and communicatingl With said chamber, the said liquid adapted to be poured in said nipple when the bottle is inverted. Y
' 2.111 a device ot the class described, a bottle formed of transparent material having' double Walls providing a receptacle for a liquid between said Walls, a nipple ot' opaque material attached to the neck ot' the bottle and communicating with said receptacle, the y said liquid adapted to be poured in said g nipple when thebottle is inverted.
3.111 a device of the claSsdesCribed. a bottle formed of transparent material havingl -a chamber formed of double Walls, an encloset interior of said bottle, a liquid between said Walls, av nipple of opaque material attached to the neck of the bottle and 'communicating With 'said chamber, ra disk having` 'a series ot-pe'rtorations placed on top ot trie. bottle Within the said nipple.y the said liquid adapted .to .pour` in the nipple When the bottle is inverted and to trickle through the perforations in the disk back again tov its original position vvh'en the bottle yis placed upright.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
