IMPROVEMENT IN NUT-FASTENINGSJ Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 168,690, dated October 11 1875;

.To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ROBERT C. WATSON, of Maysville, in the county of Ooluinbiana and State of Ohio, have invented a new and Improved Nut-Fastening, of which the following is a specification:
My invention consists of an eyezstud formed on each end of one of the fish-bars, to receive one end of a locking-plate, having holes to fit Over the nuts, the other end of the lockingplate being connected at the middle of the joint or thereabout, where it meets another similar plate fastened to the other end of the fish-plate, to a stud projecting from the fishplate', the two plates being fastened on the stud by a split key, so that they can be readily put on and taken off.
Figure 1 is a side elevation of a rail-joint with my improved nut-fastening. Fig. 2 is a horizontal section taken on line as m of Fig. 1.
