In order that thejinvention may be readily 20 understood and its practical advantages fully appreciated reference may be had to the accompanying drawing in which I have illustrated one form of a convenient mechanical embodiment thereof. However, it will be understood that the invention is susceptible of embodiment in other forms of construction than that shown without departing from the spirit thereof as defined in the claims.

Referring to the drawing: It will be seen that I have provided a base member comprising radial arms 1, the outer ends of which are adapted to be secured to a floor or other support by screws 2. The said support is provided at its middle portion with a circular flange 3 internally screw-threaded, as shown, forthe reception of the lower screwthreaded end of a vertical column 5, which preferably is tubular, as shown. Mounted upon the upper end of the column 5 is a support comprising tour radially extending arms 6, 7 8 and 9. These arms are of substantially the same length and are arranged at right angles to each other, as shown. Said support is provided at its middle or at the point of juncture of the said arms with a circular flange 10 internally screw-threaded, as shown, which is adapted to engage the screw-threaded upper end of the column 5, as clearly shown in Fig. 1 of'the drawing. The wash tray oi sheet metal 15 is mounted upon the support comprising the arms 6, 7 8 and 9. The wash tray is provided upon the underside of its bottom near the forward edge of the latter with a U strap 16, the opposite ends of which may be secured to the bottom or the tray in any suitable manner, as by spot-welding. The U strap 16 is adapted to receive the outer end portion of the arm 6. The arm 8 which is in alinement with the arm 6 terminates adjacent the rear edge of the bottom of the tray and adjacent its rear end it. is provided with a depression 20 formed by upsetting the metal, by pressing, or otherwise. At the center 01 the said depression an opening 21 is provided which is adapted to be placed in alinementwith an opening 22 formed at the center of a depression in the bottom of the tray 15. liVhen a tray is placed upon the support the openings 21 and 22 are placed in registry wit-h each other and a short pipe 25 inserted therethrough and also through a central opening through a washer 26 mounted in the depression 28. The upper end of the short pipe.25 is provided with a flange 27, the upper surface of the edge of which, when in position as shown in Fig. 1, is flush with the top surface of the bottom of the tray. The lower end portion of the short pipe 25 is screwthreaded "for the reception ot a nut 28 which is adapted to clamp and hold the arm 8 and I the bottom of the tray together, as indicated in the drawing. A drain pipe, a portion only of which is shown at 30 in the drawing, is adapted to be secured to the lower outer end of the short pipe 25. It will be understood that the port or outlet from the tray through the pipes 25 and 30 may be closed by a plug or stopper (not shown) in usual manner. The pipe may extend to a sewerage system, so that the water discharged from the tray may be conveyed into such system.

The column 5 may be made up in diiierent lengths for use and it a plumber or other person installing a wash tray finds that the pipes which he may have in his possession are too long he may readily cut one to the length desired and form screw-threads thereon and then mount the same in the manner indicated in the drawing and as previously described.

For the purpose of strengthening the base support 2 webs or fillets of metal 31 are provided in the angles between the arms 1 and the circular flange 3. The support comprising the arms 6, 7 8 and 9 is likewise strengthened by the provision of Webs or fillets of metal 32 interposed between the said arms and the circular flange 10.

It willbe seen that by my invention I have provided a support for a wash tray or the like consisting of a plurality of parts or elements which may be readily assembled and disassembled and in which also the sup porting column may be readily shortened it necessary or desired for the purpose of positioning the tray or other device at a par- 'ticular height desired.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. In combination, a base member, a column having detachable connection therewith, a supporting element having detach able connection with the upper end of said column, said supporting element comprising radially extending arms, one of said arms being provided with a depression upon the upper side thereof having a central opening theretlirough, a wash tray having a U strap secured to the underside of its bottom adjacent one edge thereof and also having a portion of its bottom pro ecting outwardly, the said outwardly projecting portion adapted to'fit in the said depression in the arm of the said supporting element, the said outwardly extending projection of the said bottom being provided with a central opening therethrough, and means extending through the openings through the said bottom and through thesaid arm for detachably connecting the said last mentioned arm and the said bottom together,

and another of the said arms engaging the said U'strap.

2. In combination, a base member, a tubular column having detachable connection with said member, a supporting element having detachable connection with the upper end of c said column, said supporting element comprising four radially extending arms arranged substantially at rightangles to each other, a portion of the metal of one of the said arms being depressed upon its upper side adjacent'its outer end to form a protrally of the said depression, a wash tray I mounted onthe said supporting element,

said wash tray being provided with a flange with which one of the arms of the said supporting element is adapted to be engaged and a portion of the bottom of the said tray being depressed upon its upper side so as to "form a projection upon its lower side, the said projection being adapted to fit into the depression previously referred to inv one of the arms of the said supporting element and the said bottom being provided with an opening therethrough centrally of the depression therein, the opening in the said bottom and in the said arm being in registry with each other, a short pipe section extending through said openings, the upper end of said pipe section being provided with a flange and the lower end portion thereof being screw-threaded for the reception'ot a nut by which the said arm and the said bottom are detachably fastened together, substantially as and "for the purpose described.

3. A supporting deviee of the character for the column, to which support the said column is detaehably connected, a support ing'element detachably mounted upon the upper end of said column, the said element comprising a plurality of arms arranged in angular relation to each other, a receptacle mounted upon said supporting element, the bottom of said receptacle having an opening therethrough andone of the said arms having an opening in registry with the opening in the bottom of the receptacle, a tubular member extending through said openings, which member is provided upon its inner end with a flange which bears against the adjoining portions of the surface of the said bottom and the outer projecting end of said tubular member being screw threaded, and a nut in engagement with the outer end portion of the said tubular member for detachably connecting the said arm and bottom together.
