IMPROVEMENT IN GAME APPARATUS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 1 64,328, dated J une 8, 1875; application filed February 23, 1875.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, NICKOLAUS REIZ, of Dayton, State of Ohio, have invented an Improvement in Game Apparatus; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description of the same, reference being had to the drawing accompanying this specification.

My invention is fully illustrated in the accompanying drawing and it consists of a die having, at least, four blank spaces, and figured upon one or two of its sides with stars, stripes, or any other desired designs.

I would preferably mark them as shown in Figures 1 and 5, the one die ornamented with a star and the other with colored stripes.

These dice may be made of bone, ivory, or other material, and are used in any number of pairs and as other designs, such as shown in Figs. 2, 3, and 4, may be employed with the same result, I do not wish to confine myself to the peculiar configuration upon each die, but

limit my invention to the production of two or more dice ornamented upon one side, or at most two sides, with any designs, but preferably not the spots ordinarily used upon dice.

The uses to which these dice can be put are numerous, and in a measure analogous to the uses of ordinary dice in all games of chance, with the exception that, owing to the large number of blank faces, the chances of success are diminished greatly, and the amusement of the game thereby increased.

Having fully described my invention, I claim and desire to secure by LettersPatent As an improvement in game apparatus, a cubical die or dice having four blank faces, and upon the remaining two faces a star, stripe, or other device, substantially as de scribed, and for the purpose set forth.
