Definitions
- Known spinning baths for making artificial silk and other artificial textile fibres from viscose generally consist in a mineralacid solution, with or without the addition I Application filed June 30, 1824. Serial No. 723,865.
- nitric acid A very small proportion of mtrlc acid in the bath suffices to produce a good efiect, even an addition of 0.1 per cent of nitric acidshowing its influence. Under certain conditions dependent upon the degree of maturity and composition of the viscose and also on the maturity of the soda cellulose used, the proportion of added nitric acid may be increased, for instance it may amount to 5 per cent. 1 I

Description
Patented Apr. 21, 1925.
' UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE- srnmmo visoosn No Drawing.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JACQUES COENRAAD Han'roos, a sub'ect of the Queen of the Netherlands, residing at Arnhem, Province of Guelderland, Kingdom of the Netherlands, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Spinning Viscose, for which I filed an ap lication in Germany, May 8, 1923, and 0 which the following is a specification. I
Known spinning baths for making artificial silk and other artificial textile fibres from viscose, generally consist in a mineralacid solution, with or without the addition I Application filed June 30, 1824. Serial No. 723,865.
nitric acid. A very small proportion of mtrlc acid in the bath suffices to produce a good efiect, even an addition of 0.1 per cent of nitric acidshowing its influence. Under certain conditions dependent upon the degree of maturity and composition of the viscose and also on the maturity of the soda cellulose used, the proportion of added nitric acid may be increased, for instance it may amount to 5 per cent. 1 I
What I claim is:
1. A process of making artificial silk or other artificial textile productswhich consists in spinnin viscose in a bath of a dilute solution 0? sulphuric acid containing betgveen 0.1 per cent and 5 per cent of nitric aoi- 2. A spinning bath silk and other artificial textile products consisting of a dilute solution of sulphuric acid containing between 0.1 per cent, and =5 per cent, of nitric acid.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
,JACQUES COENRAAD HARTOGS.
