Be it known that I, JOHN A. HOLZAPFEL, a citizen of the United States, residing at thercity and county of Jackson, State of Michigan, have inventedl certain new and useful improvements in Anchor-Rope Pulleys, of which the following is 'a specification. y f

The main objects of this invention are: First, to provide an `improved combined anchor Yrope pulley or wringer which may be readily mounted upon or removed from a boat, thusppermitting the removal of the anchor rope and anchor if desired.
Second, `to provide an improved anchor rope pulley which may, if desired, be locked upon theboa-t.

A `latch 9 is pivoted at 10 between the side members of the pulley block and is adapted t0 engage with the keeper 11 as` shown in Fig. IH, thereby preventing longiposition. A guide pulley 24 is disposed at the rear of and `below the plane ofgthe journal ino ot the movable pulley 21, the anchor rope being passed over the pulley 21 and under the guide pulley 24.

My improved anchor pulley isrvery ccnvenient to use in that the pulley block may be readily attached to or detached from the base member which may be permanently attached to the boat, or the pulley block may be locked to the base plate, as desired.
1 have illustrated and described my iniprovements in anr embodiment which 1 have found very satisfactory. l have not attempted to illustrate or describe certain modifications or adaptations which l contemplate as l believe the disclosure made will enable those skilled in the art to which my invention relates to embody or adapt the same as may be desired.
Having thus described my invention what l claim as new and desire to secure by Lettersv Patent is:
1. ln a structure of the class described, the combination of a base member adapted for attachment to a boat and having a centrally disposed upwardly projecting eye at its front end and spaced longitudinal ribs providing a pulley block scat and key-hole sockets between said ribs, a pulley block comprising spaced side v'plates seated between said ribs and having headed lugs engageable with said sockets rby a longitudinal movement of the pulley block, said pulley block having an opening therethrough registering with said eye at the front end of said base member, a pivoted spring actuated latch disposed within said pulley block, and a keeper on said base plate coacting with said latch, whereby said lugs are retained in engagement with said sockets, said latch having a laterally projecting linger piece, one of said side plates having an opening therein through which said finger piece projects.V y n 2. ln a structure of the class described, the combination of a base member adapted for attachment to a boat and having spaced longitudinal ribs providingva pulley block seat and key-hole sockets between said ribs, a pulley blockcomprising spaced side plates seated between said ribs and having headed lugs engageable with said sockets by a longitudinal movement of the pulley block, a pivoted spring actuated latch disposed within said pulley block, anda keeper on said base plate coacting with said latch, whereby said lugs are retained in engagement with said sockets.

In a structure of the class described, the combination of a base member adapt-ed for attachment to a boat and having a centrally disposed upwardly projecting eye at its front, a pulley block having headed lugs, said base member having sockets with which said lugs are engageable by a longitudinal movement of the pulley block, said pulley block having an opening therethrough registering with said eye at the front end of said base member, a latch on said pulley block, and a keeper on said base plate coacting with said latch, whereby said lugs are retained in engagement with said sockets.

In a structure of the class described, the combination of a pulley block comprising spaced side members, a pulley journaled between said side members, and a connecting cross member for said side members disposed at the upper edge thereof, said cross member having a flag-staff socket integral therewith.

In a structure of the class described, the combination of a pulley block comprising a pair of spaced side members, a xed wringer pulley journaled between said side members, a. coacting movable wringer pulley provided with a journal, said side plates being provided with elongated forwardly inclined bearings for said journal disposed at the rear of and in a plane above the axis of the fixed wringer pulley, and a guide pulley disposed at the rear of and below the plane of the axis of the movable pulley. In a device of the class described, the combination of a pulley block comprising a pair of spaced side members, a pair of coacting wringer pulleys, one of which is dis- Y posed with its journal above and at the rear of the journal of the other, said side mem- 'bers having forwardly inclined elongated bearings for the journal of the rear pulley so that such pulley is supported to be moved downwardly and forwardly towards the front wringer pulley, and a guide pulley disposed at the rear of and with its axis below the plane of the rear wringer pulley.
13. In a device of the class described, the combination of a pulley block comprising a wringer pulley having a fixed journal and a movable coacting wringer pulley, said pulley block having elongated .forwardly inclined bearings for the journal of the movable pulley, the axis of which when in its lowest position is above the plane ofthe fixed pulley journal, and a guide pulley disposed at the rear of and below the said movable wringer pulley.
14. In a device of thev class described, the combination of a pulley block, a pair of coacting wringer pulleys, said pulley block having elongated bearings in which the ournal of one of said pulleys is supported so that such pulley may move toward and from its coacting pulley, and a guide pulley disposed at the rear of and below said movableV pulley.
