Figure l is a side view of my improved razor. Fin'. 2 is across-section of the same, taken through the line w a', Fig. l.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
My invention has for its object to improve the construction of razors, so that they may be more conveniently and safelyheld in the proper position to be used.
The invention consists in a razor-bladeinade with a short cuttin g part and a long shank having a thumb-rest formed upon it, as hereinafter fully described.
A represents the handle of the razor, to which the blade B is pivoted in the ordinary way. The cutting part of the blade Bis made short, having the shank long. Upon the shank ot' the blade B is formed a thumb-rest, b, at
a convenient distance from its pi\'otingpoint.
The rest b is made seniicircular in forni, and its sides are conoaved to prevent the thumb from slipping. By this construction the outt-ing qualities of the blade B are not impaired, as only the forward part of the blade is used 'in ordinary shaving.
